Eric Lomax is one admirable human being. This is a heart-wrenching account of torture, of captivity, of recovery. Lomax's words are used in such a way that I felt physically sick when reading certain parts. I had to stop and take a break because the description was so intense and so real, I felt like I was there with him. 

"I turned the last page weeping tears of sorrow, pride and gratitude," says John McCarthy on my copy's front cover. He's so right. 

I really recommend this. There's nothing I can say that will adequately sum it up, except it's beautiful and heart-breaking at the same time.
