Once again the author has us swooning over a rockstar. I am not much of a contemporary reader but this book had me hooked with the main character. Thomas is a bit of the opposite from the protagonist in the first series, Damian. More like the guy that will sweep you off your feet. I love the hint of enemies to lovers we see in this book. The "rivalry" gave that edge of angst that I love to see in book. The mix of paparazzi and a singer was super entertaining. 

Thomas and Iris definitely compliment one another. I have to say I like Iris more than Lilly (love interest in first book) in a sense, Iris has wit, she is determined, and focused. The whole premise was enjoyable. Iris being in the position she is in, dealing with the lack of money and the fact that she needs content for her blog only brought them together in such a cute way! 

I have to say I truly enjoyed these characters more than the first book (these books can be read independently, all following a different Jailbirds band member). Swooning over their "forbidden romance" is always luring to me. Thomas must be protected at all costs, he is thoughtful, understanding, and works his way perfectly into Iris' heart. I love the way the author created their relationship, this slowburn will have you stuck to the story. The development of their relationship and their own characters went at a great pace! 

I am definitely looking forward to reading more by this author, I wonder what else is in store for us! Make sure to check out Damian and Lilly's story if you havent yet!

Rockstar romances are becoming my “guilty pleasure”, but I assure you I feel no guilt about my love for the Roadies series! PAPARAZZI is the sequel to Backstage, and if the first book was my fluffy blanket, then this second installment is my delicious cinnamon bun. I’m going to tell you a bit about it because it’s possible to without spoiling. The romances of the Roadies series are standalones, though the underlying story is connected and could result in some minor spoilers. Reading the books in order is still advised.

In Backstage we get to watch the more “chaotic” side of a rockstar’s life, with recording an album and a tour. In Paparazzi, we follow the Jailbirds through life after recording a new album. Specifically, we follow Thomas, the drummer of the band, and Iris, a paparazzo with a passion for journaling and the creator of a modestly popular music blog. The two have a fate encounter when Iris literally falls into Thomas’s arms during one of her stakeouts. Sparks fly immediately between the two, and though Iris tries to avoid Thomas in order to hide the fact she’s a paparazzo, the two can’t stay away from one another. Their hot attraction eventually leads to more, and though both have secrets they’d rather not share with the other, the deeper their feelings become, the more silence risks crushing them and tearing them apart. What happens? Well, you’ll have to read the book to find out!

Full disclosure: Damian (the lead singer and protagonist of Backstage) owns my heart, but Thomas is probably the perfect boyfriend everyone deserves in their life. He’s handsome and has arms for days, he can cook, he’s extremely caring and he’s very passionate in the sheets. Basically, he’s the package deal, and seeing this much perfection unleashed on the page may have ruined me for real-life men ever. Erika Vanzin, if I remain single forever, know it’s your fault. I loved the chemistry with Iris, and I loved how much these two raised the heat levels of this series! The scenes were sexy without being cringy, and made me envy Iris with every fiber of my being. Iris herself was probably my favorite between the two leading ladies for now, simply because I saw a lot of myself in her strong personality and in her decision-making processes.

The romance between Iris and Thomas was my favorite part of the story, but the ending added some very interesting story twists that will affect the future installments of the series and I am very decided to see where those go! Now I want the Michael book, which seems to have the Italian readers in a frenzy. ME NEEDS.

‘Cause you know that baby I… *clears throat* *screams* I’m your biggest fan I’ll follow you until you love me. Papa-paparazzi!

This series is embedding itself into my heart. Just like its predecessor, 
  Backstage
, Paparazzi delivered all of the feels. While Damian was the more classic rockstar (you know, the one who stars in our collective forbidden fantasies), Thomas was sweeter but no less swoon-worthy. He’s definitely the type of guy I would bring home to my parents. Iris, on the other hand, is a new entry. Sort of. We do see a few cameos of her in the previous book through blog inserts, and I had the feeling I would like her. I was correct! She’s such a great protagonist, strong, determined, capable, with a steady moral compass that might serve her conscience well but not her pocket. Yes, because as you might have guessed from the title, Iris is a paparazzo. 

The moment Thomas and Iris see each other, sparks fly. There’s an instant attraction, and I have to say Iris is living her best life because she’s only been following the Jailbirds ever since before they became famous. Talk about a stroke of luck! Or is it? Because the closer she and Thomas get, the bigger the weight she carries becomes. With the jobs they have, Iris and Thomas should naturally be a modern day enemies to lovers even if their personalities are so compatible. This led to some pretty interesting moments, but I do like how the truth came out and how it was handled. Was there drama? Yes. Did it play out like I thought it would? No, but my heart and mind prefer the author’s version by far. And I mean, the paparazzo thing is just the beginning. There’s no shortage of drama and obstacles in this book—especially towards the end. I was nearly to tears.

And now to the spice content. Paparazzi is as every bit as glorious as Backstage. Actually, sometimes I got the sense that we saw more between Thomas and Iris than we did with Damian and Lilly (who we saw a lot in this book, which made me very happy!) It might be because Damian and Lilly fought their attraction for so long and had more stolen moments. The secrecy of their relationship is what made them a little more exciting than Thomas and Iris, but overall I love both couples so much!

And now. Michael. Give me Michael! I hear the Italian readers are going wild with his book. What should I do? Should I take advantage of the fact that I’m also Italian, or should I continue living this experience in English and patiently wait for the translation (and the undoubtedly hawt cover)?

Earlier last month, I gushed all about book 1 in the Roadies romance series, Backstage, and now I am SO pumped to recommend this second installment entitled Paparazzi! Each of these books can be read as standalone novels, as they focus on different members of the band the Jailbirds, both with wonderfully spicy scenes and each with their own HEA endings!

This time, we focus on the beyond swoon-worthy drummer, Thomas, and a tenacious aspiring journalist Iris. Once again, the chemistry between the two lovers is off the charts steamy, complete with a super endearing and uplifting message behind their touching love story. If you are like me and do not typically reach for contemporary romance but enjoy a heartwarming slowburn story between two forbidden lovers, please do yourself a favor and check out this series!!

If the stunning cover doesn't hook you, I'm not sure what will! I also just have a thing for drummers, so that also seemed to help. Normally I am not a huge fan of rockstar romances, but I am glad that I gave this book a chance! Thank you so much to the author for gifting me a copy!

Her first book, Backstage, was good, but this one was even better. I felt like I got more invested into the storyline and connected with the characters more in this one. Which isn't surprising since authors typically only grow the more they write.

Thomas is the drummer for the jailbirds. We get a taste of him in book one, but this is where we really get to discover who the man is. His passions, interests, and fears. Upon meeting Iris, a struggling photographer and blogger, their worlds both began to shift until there is nothing but each other. I enjoyed watching their relationship play out. If you are wondering if it has spicy scenes...yes. Yes it does. :)

This book was definitely a fast read and ends with a HEA. Definitely recommend for lovers of contemporary romance!
