I really enjoyed parts of this book. I liked that Moxie was a strong girl character who loves math and puzzles. I also liked the tie in to a real life art heist. I felt the premise of the mystery was too thin and the characters were made to be incoming freshman to make it ok for them to explore he city without adults but in every other way they were very young characters. I found the nerdy, chubby, asthmatic minority BFF an unnecessary stereotype. A good mystery for 5th-6th graders and young 7th graders.

The excellent Boston accent in the audio book makes the thin gangster plot much more enjoyable.
