           I will never forgive the writers for pitting Graystripe and Fireheart against each other like that 😔

I love their friendship and I understand the need for the conflict but oh my god did it make my blood boil at times. Then there’s tigerclaw 🙄 fucking asshole tbh.. 

Bluestar is as persistent as ever but what annoyed me was her switch up about Tigerclaw.. like she went from hiding the fact she only had 2 lives left from him to DEFENDING him to Fireheart? Hell No. 

Anyways, i’m still as invested as ever so toodleloo see yall after I reread book three.

Re-reading this series is a pleasure even though I barely remember ANYTHING. Fireheart is a great character, trying to do what is right but since everyone knows he's a kittypet, but doesn't get the attention he deserves. So many things happened in this book, and I can't say it without spoilers. But, let's just say everything is getting ramped up for the next few books!

This is a nice little novel for children to preteen. It's comparable to a soft, yet more formal version of 
  Harry Potter,
 with definitive parallels in ideas such as: the Gifted travel to a different realm to attend a special school held in an ancient castle. The school grounds are held in a magical place, surrounded by welcoming, yet foreboding forests. On top of that, there is a village nearby where the students can go to buy any supplies they might need for class. 

The plot itself was quaint, but underwhelming. The sentence structure tended to be redundant. Words like "nevertheless" and "however" were used far too often when transitioning to the next sentence and tended to take away from the flow of the story. It left me wanting-- I was ready for much more than was divulged. I feel like there were several aspects of the plot that were left completely untouched. 

The story focuses on the strong theme of friendship. Yet, these relationships are made on the basis of proximity alone. I enjoyed the layout of the characters, and especially their gifts. Who doesn't like special powers, especially elemental powers!? But, I wanted to see the characters use their powers, rather than having small mishaps with them. I wanted to get to know the characters, but they were left more for interpretation of your imagination. Which is fine, but only to a point. 

The curse on the land of Aisling is intriguing, yet again, we barely scratch the surface on its details. The twisted creatures haunting the Night Oak Forest were confusing, to say the least. Hardly anything about them is divulged. Are they creatures? Or are the manifestations of one's imagination?

This is not a bad story--several of its aspects I enjoyed. Again, I think for children, this sort of story would be fine. But for YA, I think this book needs much more added to it to give it a better sense of detail, completeness, and finality in the end.

but seriously, cinderpaw, swiftpaw and cloudkit were all introduced in this book and that made me really happy.
In the same book cinderpaws leg got ruined tho :( (I thought that happened later)
Not much more to say except greystripe is being a lowkey jerk
