Gotta Be Bayou
Reviews

Spencer and Max have a bit of a history. They met, went on a stakeout, attended a wedding and got a bit hot and heavy, and then Max heard Spencer's ridonkulous list of requirements for a partner - none of which were anything like her. None. Of. Them!
But when Spencer hears of a bomb threat against Max's pen name, he goes into overdrive and drags along his partner and NOPD to check on her. He finds her n the shower and all those hot, twisted feelings he has for her resurface. But while he's trying to avod his completely obvious attraction to Max, he's also trying to fulfil his stupid perfect-partner list! Now in Autre, Louisiana - the most perfectly weird town ever - Spencer is relying on his very extedned family and friends to help keep Max safe.
Max is the most unStepford-wife-like female in existence! Spencer thinks that's what he needs to keep him sane and centered. It seems what he actually needs is a foul-mouthed, workaholic journalist with zero cooking skills!
I really felt that Max and Spencer fit perfectly. My heart broke for Max as her past unfurled and you realise where she gets that driving need to be independent and not a burden on anyone. Spencer also has a bit of a need to be in control and have a safe harbour to come home to, to stop himself shattering like his father. I was completely drawn into this Hepburn and Tracy like duos love story. Our usual cast of quirky Autre natives make an appearance and I loved meeting all the potential new couples to come in this series.
