Take one hot cop, Zander, and a runaway bride, Caroline and add in a cutey patootie lion cub that she rescued during her exit stage right and you have a chortle-filled rom-com! Zander has a protective streak a mile wide for women, children and animals. You have to feel kind of sorry for the poor guy - all that family meddling in his busy - sadly he can't arrest everyone he's related to, that'd be half of his town! Caroline is almost sunshine personified. Zander may not want his soul mate to roll into town 'cos he's sure not ready for her but it would seem Kismet/fate/karma has other ideas. Witty, scorching chemistry, peppered with danger - completely adored it, and I wasn't hampered in my love by the fact that I hadn't read any of the other books in this series.
