Really great start to the series! I wasn't exactly sure where this book would go since it is about pirates, but I love how the author plays with more fantasy elements than I expected and creates a vital role for the sexy sexy pirates! This is definitely worth the read for those that are a fan of the RH category... and I am super excited for when book two releases.

The story itself wasn't terrible, but it is in DIRE need of a better editor. It's a toss-up whether it's Zach or Zack, full sentences don't make sense or read awkwardly, improperly-used commas are abundant, and this was WAY too short for a first book in a series. I feel like nothing much really happened, but the few times it did, the conflicts were resolved quickly and with little suspense or excitement. And since there are SIX love interests, we really could have used more one-on-one scenes with each of them before they all start declaring their undying devotion. That said, the worldbuilding was great. This author excels at worldbuilding and atmosphere, for sure. I would LOVE to read more stories set in this world. I will read the next one, but I hope the author seriously pursues another editor in the future. This was a fun little read, but it needed some more polishing before it was published.
