Act Your Age

Bent not broken... This was a recommended read from a FB group. I wasn't sure what to expect but the synopsis drew me in and well, I one clicked. This was an interesting story and I would have loved an epilogue. I was a little sad that we couldn't see what the future held for a Katie and Ty. I hope they are re-visited. It was interesting to hear their voices throughout the story and what made them who they were. Ty definitely pissed me a lot of times but he FINALLY sees the light. Katie and Ty's path to a HEA was not smooth. Lots of hurts and misunderstandings to get through. If you like alpha jerks that turn into alpha hero then this book is for you. If you don't mind books that feature bdsm then try this book.

Loved the heroine, she was quirky, and funny and I adored her friends in the Roller Derby group once we got to know them a bit more, especially Rapunzel. (also, am now very upset I am too unfit and decrepit to play Roller Derby!!) And the hero, not your typical hero, yes he is hot, but he is gruff, and drinking too much, and sleeping in his office. Anyway, I have (many many many many times) expressed my love for this author and how she writes her characters. And this is no different. Despite their kinks or not, they are so very real, raw and relatable. They are characters, with hang ups, issues, fears, and you can so believe that somewhere in the world these people exist. And it is hot, ok the "Daddy" thing is not for everyone, and in real life it is not for me, yet here, they both know what they want and did before they met. So they can explore this together, knowing full well, it is what they both need. Once again the author delivers an engaging, interesting, funny, angsty love story.
