Robbins at nearly his most insufferable. It seems appropriate that this novel was serialized in "High Times" magazine, because you'd have to be on something for some of the nonsense philosophizing to make sense. And Robbins' prose here is too often painfully self-indulgent and pointless, to the point that it is painful to read. If you've read some of his better works this will surely disappoint.

such an amazing read that has the ability to really draw you into the world of the rubber rose. Goes super deep in a lighthearted way and probs only a 4.5 because I read the first half in june
