Tru Walls has never visited North Carolina but is summoned to Sunset Beach by a letter from a man claiming to be his father. A safari guide, born and raised in Zimbabwe, Tru hopes to unravel some of the mysteries surrounding his mother's early life and recapture memories lost with her death. When the two strangers cross paths, their connection is as electric as it is unfathomable . . . but in the immersive days that follow, their feelings for each other will give way to choices that pit family duty against personal happiness in devastating ways. Illuminating life's heartbreaking regrets and enduring hope, EVERY BREATH explores the many facets of love that lay claim to our deepest loyalties--while asking the question, How long can a dream survive?

Not advocating cheating here but hey, am in if it's about true love. This book is like The notebook but gone wrong. Basically if she hadn't chose Noah and would've the other guy she was engaged with. I mean not exactly that but you'll get the drill when you read it. Remember enjoying it when I read it, don't think I would anymore

Read this for my local book club and is great for an older audience but just a bit tacky imo. I enjoyed the story (as I do with most Nicholas Sparks novels) but I was frustrated by so much that happened and a poor choice made by the MC Hope. After our book club meeting, we picked apart so many things including how there was just overall a lack from the characters of trying to win the love life they deserve. Also, I personally think with Nicholas Sparks fame, there was a bit of laziness on his end with getting things to make good choices. I don’t want to leave spoilers on my reviews but if you read this and want to discuss what I mean find me on ig at maelikestoread :) Overall 3/5 stars but wouldn’t recommend

Wow... where do I even begin. The 3rd September 2018 marked an incredibly special day for me - the day I received an email asking me if I'd like to take part in reviewing Nicholas Spark's new novel Every Breath as part of the UK blog tour. I mean... permission to squeal!?!? And is that even really a question? I couldn't even imagine a world where I might have said no thanks. Nicholas Sparks, undoubtedly, has written some of the most beautiful and heart-wrenching love stories of all time. Every Breath is just another of his masterpieces. The story follows the love story of Hope Anderson and Tru Walls - both from completely different worlds, but brought together in unusual circumstances. Nicholas Sparks has such a beautiful way of bringing his characters to life. I found myself relating so much to Hope; her character, her dreams. I also felt a strong connection to Tru. Having been born and grown up in South Africa, I related so strongly to his love of the bush and the magic of wildlife in Africa. I fell in love with Tru as quickly as Hope did and with their love. The instant connection, not necessarily of electric sparks, but the ease which they felt in each other's company, the desire to know and understand one another. As a reader, you feel as though you live every emotion along with them. Like you are really seeing what each of the characters are feeling inside, not just reading about it on a page. There were a number of occasions in the book where I felt like my heart actually skipped a beat, or paused with anxiety with the worry of Tru and Hope being kept apart. And I'm not going to lie... there was a pivotal moment in the book - you'll know it when you read it - that I felt a tear running down my face and my throat all choked up. As always, Nicholas Spark's words moved me to tears. As in every true love story, Every Breath is filled with passion, romance and devastating heartbreak. It's not a cliche love story, it's a true, honest account, where life and commitments get in the way. Through every chapter your heart is on tender hooks, hoping the true love will prevail. Nicholas Sparks, remains one of the most profound authors of love stories. This book will break your heart and fight to mend it again.

** spoiler alert ** I was so excited when I received « Every Breath » as a Christmas present , it had been on my wish list since the day it came out. I wanted to love this book, it was Nicholas Sprarks’s after all. Although I loved the beginning of the book and likes Tru and Hope a lot , I started getting less and less excited as the book became more and more ridiculous . Hope ´s reasons for leaving , her loveless mariage (Even if she couldn’t have kids with Tru, why marry josh if she didn’t love him, it’s not like she couldn’t have had kids with someone else but whatever) , their meeting 24 years later with the hope of a second chance but alas she ´s dying and we’re leaving it at that. And the Nicholas Sparks writing himself in the book ... I think he could had written that one a lot better, there were better ways of including himself in the story, here it felt just ... unnatural and forced. Even his explanation at the end about writing himself in the book felt just strange . I do have some positive things to say about the book despite all the negativity I had to say about it . I loved that Tru was from Zimbabwe and loved the stories linked to his safaris and childhood, I loved their first dates , and like every Nicholas Sparks novels the book was fast paced and well written.

"A life, after all, is simply a series of little lives, each of them lived one day at a time, and every single one of those days has choices and consequences. Piece by piece, those decisions help to form the people we become."If you've known me for a long time, you'd know that I'm quite a fan of Nicholas Sparks because I've read almost all of his books (I used to be able to say ALL, but I missed out on reading his newer books lately). So when I heard that he will be releasing a new book, I decided to read it this time around. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy the story as much as I hoped to. Even though I still thoroughly enjoyed Nicholas Sparks' writing style, I think I've somehow grown out of these kinds of story as I got older 😂. At the start of this book, the author explained that he was inspired by a true story and a mailbox called Kindred Spirit that truly exists in real life. Nicholas Sparks was deeply moved by a letter that he read inside that mailbox and decided to write a story around it. Yet, I find it difficult to relate to the story because I don't really believe that love can happen in the span of one or two days. But I guess that's just my personal beliefs and preferences 😂, no offense to anyone who believes in that."He'd always believed that anything was possible when it came to love, that any obstacle could be overcome. Wasn't that a truth that nearly everyone took for granted?"The story is written in third-person point of view and mainly focused on the two main characters: Tru Walls and Hope Anderson. The book begins by giving a background story on each of these characters separately. We got to know Tru, a safari guide living in Zimbabwe, who've been divorced and had a son from his marriage. On the other hand, Hope is a thirty-six year old woman who've been dating on and off with her boyfriend of six years, without any wedding plans in sight. When the two of them met at Sunset Beach, they were naturally drawn to one another and find it comfortable to be together. Although they knew what they felt was special, the priorities in each of their lives contradict. I won't reveal any more than that to avoid spoilers for those who haven't read this book yet, but I have to say there are times when I was quite irritated by Hope's character 😂. On the other hand, Tru is a complete gentleman and I really admire his kindness. At the same time, I also feel like he's too good to be true. These things make them less relatable for me personally, so I wasn't deeply invested in their love story. Nonetheless, as I've said earlier, Nicholas Sparks' writing style still made it bearable and I was able to enjoy it quite well. Whenever I read a Nicholas Sparks book, it's always a question whether this one will have a sad ending or a happy ending. Of course I won't spoil what the ending in this book will be, but I'll just say that it's a bittersweet one. People can perceive this ending as either a sad one or a happy one, it depends on your perspective. For me personally, it's a combination of both. "Mistakes were inevitable, and she'd concluded that regrets could impart important lessons in life, if one was willing to learn from them." "Meeting you and falling in love with you was an experience I would relive a thousand times in a thousand different lives, if I was ever given that chance."As a longtime fan of Nicholas Sparks' books, I have to say that I'm not entirely satisfied with this one. When I finished this book, my exact feeling was just "meh". Not that good, but not that bad either. I'm sure there are people out there who would find this book to be extremely sweet and romantic. But because of my personal preferences and principles, I just cannot find myself relating to these kinds of stories. Reading this book makes me want to go on a safari tour, though. I think it will be a thrilling experience to have—at least once in a lifetime 😊. Read the full review here: http://www.thebookielooker.com/2018/1...

I can't believe he made me cry once again. I'm not going to lie it started slow and I was confused at first. But I enjoyed it like any Sparks Book! Adding another favorite to my collection! Thank You Sparks, cannot wait to continue reading your words ❤️

This was most definitely a Sparks book! I really loved the last 2/3 of the book. The first third of the story was boring, mainly because it was the back story of Hope and Tru, and explaining why these two were even at the same beach on the same continent. I love Tru, and he was definitely the hero! But I've just not been loving Sparks books lately. This one had a lot of ups, but it also had a lot of downs for me.

** spoiler alert ** A typical romance by the king of romance. It was good, but I wanted to strange the main characters sometime. Even though some of their hesitation and decisions infuriated me, I still found myself invested in the outcome and rooting for them (which made me dislike the ending someone). It was an okay read, but predictable
