I loved this book, the interconnected plot with 3 different perspectives was something I haven't come across often, so it was a nice refresher from my other books. As much as I loved the plot the story of Opaline broke my heart and that's simply why I can't give this book all 5 stars.

This story was whimsical, charming, and heartbreaking. But, it was filled with hope. There were a few plot holes, or maybe they were purposefully left there for the reader to determine for themselves. Regardless, I really liked this story.

Had the same magical feeling I had when I was a kid and read Harry Potter for the first time. Loved it centering female characters across time periods.

A concept similar to The Lost Apothecary, but honestly I was so bored. It was such a slog for me to get through and I didn't think it even wrapped up that well. I'm just glad to be done.

3.5/5 the premise of this book was very good but at some points it felt rushed... I really enjoyed Martha and Henry's povs but Opaline was a strong woman and queen but it felt rushed mostly but i loved the storyline

This is the type of book that reminds me why I love reading so very much. 

The blurb doesn't do the full scope of this book justice. It's a book about books mystery across time with twists and turns and emotions and tension. It was just brilliant, romantic where it needed to be, emotional where it needed to be and always utterly gripping. The writing was beautiful and entrancing, I loved the characters, they felt so real and I felt incredibly invested in their stories. 

I loved this and I can't fully process my thoughts on it yet. Brilliant. Superb. 10/10 would recommend.
