Initially, it took me a while to get into the writing style of this book. But eventually I did. I found it poetic, even though I wasn't sure if sometimes it felt like too much was wasted on this bleak world. But it worked and I liked it

And truth be told, for the most part that's all I liked. Because eventually we met Dan who's blatant misogyny not only got me really angry but showed me how awful the main character is. I know that no character is perfect and sometimes they do things and are terrible. But truthfully I didn't need to hear about all the drugs she took. Or how she skipped classes or just seemed to give no fucks about really anything. 

I DNF'ed this at about 45% after Dan makes another appearance by punching our main character in the ass. I'm sort of wondering if they will or won't but he's such garbage and Nikki sticks around for it because he's good looking, so I really couldn't care less. Good riddance to whatever happens to them both! (Probably normal teenage stuff as this is supposed to be based on the life of the author. Can we take a break from all the autofiction please??!!).
