Fake Fiancee

Fake Fiancee

They say nothing compares to your first kiss,But our first kiss was orchestrated for an audience. Our second kiss . . . that one was REAL.He cradled my face like he was terrified he'd f*ck it up.He stared into my eyes until the air buzzed.Soft and slow, full of sighs and little laughs,He inhaled me like I was the finest Belgian chocolate,And he'd never get another piece.A nip of his teeth, his hand at my waist . . .And I was lost.I forgot he was paying me to be his fake fiancée.I forgot we weren't REAL.Our kiss was pure magic, and before you laugh and say those kinds of kisses don't exist,Then you've never touched lips with Max Kent, the hottest quarterback in college history.

I needed a break from the book I was currently reading, when I saw this I knew I needed to put that other book down and start Fake Fiancée, I devoured it in one sitting. It was unputdownable (is that a word? whatever it is now). The prologue hooked me I wanted to know more about the girl. I love a good sports book and Ilsa did not disappoint. Max Kent is the star quarterback of Leland University, as a top contender for the Heisman Trophy, he has to portray a certain image. So when he meets his neighbor Sunny he comes up with a plan to keep the groupies away and help eachother out with their exes. Their chemistry is undeniable but Sunny has sworn off jocks after her ex. Sunny doesn't swoon over Max like most of the girls he meet so he is intrigued, soon their friendship grows. Even though Sunny doesn't want to feel anything for Max she can't help it, he's not just a jock, he has a softer side that he only show her. Max laser focus on football and doing anything to win is how they end up fake engaged in one of the most showy ways to do it. I kept saying "No! he's doing it now! Seriously dude you just messed up." I loved Sunny and Max banter, their friendship, the slow build to something bigger. I was happy with the way the story just naturally flowed, it wasn't force, wasn't super predictable, loved the dual point of view. It was nice to get both POV and not just a one sided story. You get to see the moment he realizes what he did wrong, the moment he remembers everything. LOVE!!

I voluntarily received an advanced review copy of this book and chose to review it. I was pleasantly surprised by this book. At first, I thought it was another fake fiancé book, and yes there is that aspect to it, but it does it in a way that is unlike the glut of others out there. I absolutely loved Max. He was such a sweetheart, a definite new addition tommy book boyfriend's list. And Sunny is sassy and strong. I love her. This book is great and I highly recommend everyone give it a go! Reviewed for 2Rs blog.
