Reviews

To be honest when I heard this was a book about Easton I wasn’t very excited. I mean, I liked him in the previous books but I wanted to know more about Ella’s father and her relationship with Reed. But after the first three chapters I was already regretting my lack of excitement at the beginning, this books is AMAZING!!! 😱 And that end is just too much!

Royally screwed? Finally Easton's book!!!!! ... that was my reaction as I started the book. As I continued to read, I was more like groaning his name in a cringy way. Easton has depths that he doesn't like to show. Easton is very self destructive and you hope with Hartley he will outgrow it. Hartley has her own secrets, struggles and family cray. These two broke people will be good together but .... not so much. I enjoyed the banter between Easton and Hartley. You could see that they could work but there is a lot of stuff they will need to overcome. Easton quite frankly needs to grow up. His lack of maturity is what had me lowering my rating to a four. His "fixing" skills suck ... they only cause more trouble. I think he is that "middle child" you hear about in textbooks and is struggling. Seriously, so many issues. There are several bombshells at the end of the book and I look forward to reading the 2nd book to have proper resolution. I also hope what happened will be the catalyst for great change. Lastly, I want to know why is Ella struggling with her love of Reed. She should know he loves her and would die for her. It's like I didn't recognize her. What is up with Lauren ... I thought she was cool but she needs to go, needs to go.

I voluntarily received an advanced review copy of this book and chose to review it. OMG, they've done it again and once again I'm royally ruined. This book was everything we wanted and more. We get to see what all our favourites are up to as well as finally get inside the mind that is Easton Royal. Easton is everything we've come to expect from him and Hartley is more than up for the challenge of wrangling him. I love her! I love Easton even more than I did. I loved seeing more of the twins. There's funny moments, touching moments, annoying, want to tear your hair out moments, as well as some loving moments too. I absolutely loved this book, love this series and I can't wait for the next book! Reviewed for 2 Rs blog.

author 1: so how do you want to finish this book? what should we write? author 2: just fuck me up

3,5 no es tan bueno como los otros pero aún así se lee muy rápido y el final hace que quieras leer el último libro ya de ya.

WHY DOES EVERY BOOK IN THIS SERIES END IN A CLIFFHANGER? I so wasn’t expecting this ending.

Fallen Heir follows the narrative of Easton Royal.... the Royal family's most rogue and wild male. Of course we follow the similar story of book 1-3.. Easton is broken... uses sex and drugs to fill the void in his life... meets Hartley (simple, quiet and hiding a secret) and Easton is ready to protect her at all cost along with prove his feelings are genuine. Sound familiar? I enjoyed revisiting the Royal world, the scandal, the drama that somehow belongs on the CW, and the hot brothers. But I must say.... Reed is still my favorite. Honesty? I think I would have been happy finishing with book 3... but that ending!?!?!?😟 ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 🔥/5

I really liked Easton a lot in the previous books so I was quite excited to pick up this one but I probably shouldn’t have. While I thought he was cute and sweet and protective towards Ella despite struggling with his addiction issues, this book shows him in a totally different light. He comes across as arrogant, entitled, even stalkery coz he won’t leave Hartley alone though she has told him no multiple times. I also thought all his feelings towards Ella sounded very creepy and I really couldn’t reconcile the East from the previous books with the one here. Hartley comes across as an interesting character but I still couldn’t connect with her a lot. The absolutely crazy twists and cliffhanger at the end made me mad because it’s become the authors’ trademark to make the readers continue with the series. But I don’t think I will. I was really disappointed with the change in Easton’s character and I am not sure if I am ready to get sucked into his story anymore.

4 STARS This book, and the whole series for that matter, is the definition of a guilty pleasure. You know it’s bad for you i.e. you are going to have a massive book hangover for the next month, wondering what is going to happen next. I knew that this book was going to end on a cliff-hanger, and I read it anyway. You just can’t help yourself with The Royals. As with the previous books in the series there is an abundance of high school drama, and this time the story focuses on Easton Royal. Now you might hate me for this, but even though I loved East in the previous books, I hated him in this one! He acted like a real asshole and a spoiled rich kid. I imagine that was the point, so that he can see the error of his ways in the next book and come to his senses. But I really have no clue what a smart and capable girl like Hartley would even see in him. I also assume that the best is yet to come between Hartley and Easton, because apart from talking, texting, some stalking on Easton’s part and lots of displays of trust issues not much happens between the main characters in terms of romance. You might disagree, but for me arm-touching and hungry glances get old after some time.

HOLY CRAP! I am shook. That ending was...😱

“Fallen Heir” is the fourth book in “The Royals” series written by Erin Watt. The series follows the Royals family as they had to welcome a new member, Ella, into their family and the twist and turns that it will bring. Reed has gone to college leaving Easton, Ella and the twins. Easton has now to be the leader, however he does not like the idea, he just prefers to live his own life, however while he is doing something just Easton would do someone sees him. When he asks her not to tell anyone she does not seem interested on him, which wakes something on Easton. He starts following her around and while doing so he gets to know her, which is something he had not done in a very long time, none the less, Hartley does not give into him no matter how hard he tries. In the mean while the Royals start losing their status in the school and Easton might have to do something if he wants to prevent someone worse to be at the top. “Fallen Heir” was a compelling book, as all the books in this series are. The authors are incredible at making you unable to put the book down, you just want know what is happening next. Apart from that the books are twisted but at the same time you can see they have a plan a guideline, they are not just twist over twist that leads to nothing. I like that the topic of mental health is talk in this book, even if I thought they should have extended the talk and got deeper into it. The characters are different from the ones in the previous three books in every way and that also makes the book interesting. All in all, “Fallen Heir” was a really good compelling book that did not disappointed me. This series was exactly what I was expecting some guilty pleasure series easy to go through the books quickly and perfect twisty romantic chic-lit.

Find this review and more at kimberlyfaye reads. I thought I'd been ruined by the Royals before, but it turns out I didn't know quite what "ruined" was. Until Fallen Heir, that is. Holy cow. I've loved The Royals series since I first picked up Paper Princess. It's totally cracktastic and I have to pretty much make time to read the entire book in one sitting because I do not want to put it down once I've started. Fallen Heir was a little slower for me, but that could be because it's been ages since I've visited any of the Royals. It didn't take me that long to get totally into the book though. Once I did, I was totally hooked and couldn't wait to see where the story would take me. My favorite thing about this book was getting to know Easton better. I had some pretty strong preconceived notions about him from his appearances in the first three books, but I don't feel like I ever got to know him all that well. Now I can say that's been remedied. There's more to him than what he shows with his tough, arrogant, spoiled Royals exterior. There was a vulnerability there I didn't really expect to find. I'm not sure I would've had it not been for Hartley either. I liked her. She reminded me of Ella in some ways, but I don't think that's a bad thing. I like Ella. Much like Ella, Hartley is poor and more or less alone, yet still sassy, strong and determined. I definitely liked the idea of Easton and Hartley together because I think they work well together, even with their differences. I should've known better, but I thought this was a standalone book. I didn't start to see the inevitable cliffhanger coming until I was at about the 90% mark of the book, when I realized there wasn't enough time to get resolution on this story. The magnitude of the cliffhanger took me by surprise, too. My goodness. Let's just say Cracked Kingdom CAN NOT get here soon enough. I'll be counting down until January because I have LOTS of questions that need answers. I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. FAVORITE QUOTES "My favorite rumor is that I've got a magic tongue—because it's true. I'll be happy to demonstrate for you at any time." I know what it's like to be alone. I know what it's like to want and not have. I don't want Hartley to feel that way. Not anymore. Not while I'm around. No one has ever really needed me. Ella needed Reed. My mom needed pills and booze. The twins have each other. Hartley is alone. And there's something about her loneliness that strikes a chord in me.

all my love to easton

Originally posted at Booklovers For Life We finally have Easton’s story!! Well, at least the first part of it. ;) Fallen Heir has been a huge anticipated release ever since Easton Royal and his charming ways showed up in the Royals series. I adored his cocky, naughty self and couldn’t wait to see what would be in store for him, and what kind of girl would be able to knock him off his feet. I can say that Erin Watt didn’t disappoint with the heroine – I absolutely LOVED Hartley and might possibly love her more than Easton. If you’re a fan of the series, then you absolutely don’t want to miss this next installment in the dramatic, angsty Royals series! I know what it’s like to be alone. I know what it’s like to want and not have. I don’t want Hartley to feel that way. Not anymore. Not while I’m around. There’s more than meets the eye with Easton. From previous books, we knew him as a joker and a player, who’s had vices in drugs, alcohol, and women. He’s given up the drugs, but not much else has changed. His two older brothers are away at college and his two younger brothers, who are twins, are off doing their thing with their girlfriend (yes, they have one girlfriend together). He has Reed’s girlfriend Ella with him, but he couldn’t feel more alone during his senior year of high school. That is, until he bumps into a new student named Hartley Wright, and things start to look up for him. Hartley couldn’t give two shits about Easton, who he is, or how much money he has. That is honestly my favorite part about her and why I love her so fiercely. She’s not like any other person who adores Easton and fawns all over him. She literally wants him to leave her alone – though of course he won’t. Hartley has secrets that are only barely touched upon in this book, and Easton is incredibly intrigued – and attracted to – this mystery girl. But since he won’t leave her, they come to a compromise and become friends, with a few bumps along the way. I don’t know why I latched onto the idea of being friends, but it sits right with my gut. I want Hartley in my life and if being friends is the way that happens, then friends is what we’ll have. It’s different, but maybe that’s not a bad thing. Hartley and Easton were absolutely amazing in Fallen Heir. They are opposites, yet they understand each other in a way no one else can. Hartley makes Easton want to do better and be better – he broke my heart in the first half of the story, but his gradual transformation is heartwarming to experience. I will say that there isn’t much of a romance in Fallen Heir, though. If there is, it’s reaaally slow. So I’m hoping things will pick up in the sequel! Fallen Heir was a great start to Easton and Hartley’s story. It’s told entirely in Easton’s POV, which I adored. We get to see little glimpses of Ella and Reed, which was great. One thing I will say is that I was a little disappointed with the twins’ girlfriend’s characterization and how different it was from previous books. Mainly because I wouldn’t have minded some love triangle story for them, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see how that goes. You can read Fallen Heir without having read the first three books, which are Ella and Reed’s story, but I’d highly recommend reading the series in order to understand all the characters and what’s happened so far better. That being said, if you love anything with angsty characters and lots of drama, read this book (and series)! Thanks to the author for generously providing me an ARC to review.
