Book #8 Read in 2018 Fathomless by Jackson Pearce This is a take on the little mermaid. Celia meets Nadia who is a girl who has become a mermaid, Lo. Nadia is struggling to maintain human memories. Lo is trying to not become a monster who will kill humans. This telling is a bit creepier than the Disney version, and for that alone, I think high schoolers will enjoy it. It has mystery, fantasy and romance elements.
