My book club ladies decided to read this book for the month. I really didn't even know what the book was about, so I had no expectations. I was very pleasantly surprise, great story very relatable characters. Tarryn Fischer does such an amazing job in bringing you to the mindset and emotions of Helena, it is magnificent. I couldn't put the book down, I needed to know how it was going to end. It almost makes me, want to be like Helena. To have a dream and pursue and try different things. Definitely recommend it!

4.5 AAAAAAAAAH i just wanna punch kit in his freaking beautiful face,,, but in a loving way u know?,,, nope?,,, okay,,, anyway i love that helena and kit are kinda quirky! esp helena!!!

Top 10. That is the first thing I have to say. This book has made it to my top favorite books and that is definitely a challenge for me to pick favorites, but wow. This book is not what you expect it to be. Magical realism drips from every page mixed with the everyday troubles and anxieties that all humans deal with. Helen, God I love her. I don't think I've ever loved a character as much as I love her, but it is probably because she is my twin. If a book had a soul, then this book and I would be kindred spirits. Lovely, intense, and hilarious as hell, this book has something (and I'm sure of it for anyone). So many emotions resurfaced as I read this book, but it was healing. I think I'm hooked, and I think I'm going to read it again very soon. Oh plus, her Harry Potter references throughout the book made my life. Helena gets me.

This is my first Tarryn Fisher book (not counting Never Never). I've always known that her books weren't for me but this book didn't look as dark or twisted as her other books so I decided to give it a chance. F*ck Love hooked me since the very first chapter, the story is set in a really interesting way and I was really curious and eager to find out how it all unfolds. While it is true that I read most of the book in one sitting, I can't say that I totally loved it. I found the characters a bit lacking, their personalities weren't completely defined and I had a hard time connecting to them and understanding their actions. Helena was a mess a full of contradictions but my main problem was with Kit. I don't know if it was because of we didn't get his POV or because the "explanations" for his actions were BS but I just didn't like him. I also would have like to have a bit more of foundation in Helena and Kit's relationship, instead of having it all being about the dream. I still enjoyed it enough to give it 3 stars, I liked the writing and the beginning of the book, I just wished it would have developed differently and the characters had more depth.

never dnfed something faster reading this while out walking was a mistake I wanted to throw myself in front of every moving car I saw

“I was just a flat line until he came along. And maybe now I’m hurting. But isn’t that what love is supposed to do? Make you feel, make you brave, make you look at yourself more carefully?”

It's actually 3.5 stars maybe like a 3.89 but like 2.89 stars are for Kit even though he was a punk ass coward lmfao ok see Kit's a cutie but like if he really wanted Helena then he shouldn't have stayed settling for Della. And the more I think about it the more Kit isn't worthy of my 2.89 stars and I might break up with him. Maybe I'm bitter.. Mmm. Also I really should stop setting my read dates for days before I've even opened the book because it def did not take me two weeks to read this lol more like two nights but whateverrrrr. Ok so like face value and basic human characteristics wise, Kit is worth a 2.89 but like cut away that cowardness from him and book boyfriend of the year thus far! xP

****4.5 Stars**** F*ck Love is the book that popped my Tarryn Fisher cherry and all I can say is WOW!!! This woman knows how to make you feel!! Helena Conway has a dream of a different life where she is with her best friend's boyfriend. When she wakes up, she sees life and Kit in a whole different way. The problem is she is with Neil and Kit is with her best friend, Della. Now Helena is questioning all kinds of things about herself. Who is she? Was that dream what her life is suppose to be? Or was it just a dream? This book will make you stop and really think. At times I found myself having to reread parts to make fully sure of what I was reading. I loved how Tarryn made references to Harry Potter as well! Overall I loved this book and will definitely be reading Ms. Fisher's other books as well.

"Contrast is important in life. We understand what light is because we can compare it with what we know is dark. Sweet is made sweeter after we eat something bitter. It’s the very same with sadness.” i enjoyed it a lot ,i loved the romance with all it's angst , but i had some issues with the plot i feel like there's somethings left unexplained .(view spoiler)[like the whole dream thing i still don't get it ,why did Kit kept hinting that he had the same dream and wrote that book about it ,but in the end it turns out that it's was just a coincidence , SERIOUSLY, nope i don't buy it ???!! and that dude who appears at the end ,who is he ?and where did he go ? (hide spoiler)] however the main highlight of this book was the writing style asdfghjkl it was so SO so good . I LOVE IT !

3.5 stars It had really good parts and then others that were meh. Overall it was kind of all over the place and i felt like i needed a cheat sheet to keep up

4.5 stars! "The best kind of love is the love that isn't supposed to happen." I've only read a few Tarryn Fisher books, but this was one I knew I HAD to read. So much so, I downloaded it immediately upon its release, and it was also my very first read of 2016. Though I had no idea what I was in for when I started this book, it still ended up surprising me. As is Tarryn's usual style, I felt confused and had no idea what to expect for the majority of the story. I actually really love this about Tarryn. Her knack for completely confusing me, yet hooking me into the story at page 1 is something I adore and look forward to with all of Tarryn's books. This book was no exception. I honestly loved it, and couldn't put it down until I finished it. But I felt like it was missing a little something, and this is where I had to sway from the five star rating. Though I loved the story, the ending felt rushed and inconclusive. I'm not sure if that was Tarryn's intention, or if maybe more editing could have helped? It just didn't wrap up as perfectly as I had hoped. Still, an incredible story that I was fully invested in and sincerely adored. Time to read more T. Fisher books! “Don’t be upset that you can’t attain constant happiness. It’s the quickest way to feel like a failure in life. If each of our lives represented a page in a book, happiness would be the punctuation. It breaks up the parts that are too long. It closes off some things, divides others. But it’s brief—showing up when it’s needed and filling tired paragraphs with breaks.” Find this review and others like it at Lost in Literature!
