Finding It A Novel
Reviews

Finding It was such a charming read, and I had such a fun time with this one. I will say that the narrator did a great job in really portraying the tone of the story so well. So I am glad that I read this one is audiobook. I loved the way that this story was written and the last thing that I expected was a road trip adventure. These two meet originally while traveling abroad and I found their beginning interactions to be so endearing and fun. They begin traveling Europe together and I really found it to be so much fun. Road Trips don't always work for me, but Cora Carmack did such an intriguing job with this one. Now this story while fun and likeable, didn't exactly wow me but it was a fun distraction to listen to!

May be my favourite so far in the series. Enjoyed the plot. Liked traveling across Europe with Kelsey and Jackson. Looking forward to Jackson's POV next.

The best parts of life are the things we can't plan. It's a lot harder to find happiness if you're only searching in one place. Sometimes you just have to throw away the map. Admit you don't know where you're going and stop pressuring yourself to figure it out. Besides..a map is a life someone else already loved. It's more fun to make your own. Ahh!! This book was SO CUTE!! I just love Cora Carmack books. They literally have everything you love in a romantic comedy all wrapped up together with a nice pretty bow. This is the last book in the losing it trilogy and this one is MY FAVORITE! They just get better and better. You don't have to reading Losing it and Faking it to read this one. I highly recommend reading them at some point, but they pretty much all stand on their own so you don't need to read them in order. Which means, PICK THIS ONE UP THIS SUMMER! And fall in love with Jackson Hunt because I'm still drooling over him Women love a mystery. But only if we think we can figure it out. This story follows Kelsey who just graduated college and decides to backpack around Europe looking for an adventure. She parties her way through Europe, hooking up with guys, and hitting every bar she can. But it isn't what she really wants in her life. Then while stumbling her way out of a bar, she meets Jackson Hunt, who has his own secrets that weigh him down. After a few run-ins they decide to backpack through Europe together and make their own adventure. Adventures don't happen when you're worried about the future or tied down by the past. They only exist in the now. And they always, always come at the most unexpected time, in the least likely of packages. An adventure is an open window; and an adventurer is the person willing to crawl out on the ledge and leap. Are you sold yet? Because I was hooked immediately. Cora Carmacks writing is so addicting and the characters are always to authentic and real. Seriously could not put this book down. I flew through it in less than 24 hours, like I do with all of her books. They're so compelling, light and fun. However this one does deal with some heavy stuff. Secrets are buried under the surface, and they're both pretty damaged people with a tough past. I loved how they worked through their issues and despite everything fell in love. "Absence makes the heart grow fonder." I turned the doorknob and he embraced me from behind. "I don't think I could be any more fond of you." *swoons* "I didn't think I would feel this way." "What way?" "Like life is worth living again." Their relationship was the CUTEST! And this is the perfect summer book. Theirs bungee jumping, beaches, playgrounds, visits to castles, and the romantic setting of Florence, Rome, Naples, Germany, and ahh so many more. Then theirs the fun traveling parts of them in hotel rooms, and going through different trains. It's the sweetest. Oh and have I mentioned on hot Hunt is? Because AH! And he calls her princess! But although this story is really really cute, it does have an undertone of serious issues going on but it was balanced perfectly. "What if homes not a place you can ever go back to?" We turned from the road we'd been following into a path that led into a park. The long lines of trees and sweeping fields of green relaxed me. He said, "Then you find a new home, a new place that makes you happy. It's not a once-in-a-lifetime deal, Kelsey. People find home in new places, new dreams, new people, all the time. Home should feel effortless, like gravity." I didn't trust gravity. It seemed to always be pulling me in the wrong direction. "It's not that simple," I said, then I pulled away and walked a little faster, hoping he'd take that as a clue to change the subject. "Of course it's not simple. The best thing usually aren't." They're both trying to find this idea of "home" and eventually they find that kind of peace and happiness in each other and it's such a joy to watch. Yes it's a little cheesy, but in the best way. I mean seriously, who doesn't love a fun cheesy romance novel every one in a while? They're some of the best! The only complaint I had with this one was, like all of her books, I wished it was longer! I fly through them so quick and before I know it I'm smiling as I turn the last page then a second later it hits me that it's over and I'm forced to go back and reread. It's a tough process. Anyways, definitely pick up Cora Carmack books, especially this one!! Loved it so much! "I didn't believe you when you told me I would find another place to call home." I kissed him tenderly, trying to pour all my gratitude and affection and all the other unnamed things I felt into my kiss. "This feels like home."

I was a bit disappointed with this one. After LOVING the first two books in this companion series this one fell flat for me... Although the characters were great and really well portrayed, the story-line was sooo cliche, something I have seen in countless movies and read several books about. Right at the beginning I saw what was coming and when the 'big' reveal happened, I was extremely disappointed. These amazing characters needed a better plot, deserved tale more unique...

so good<3

Review to come.

2.5 stars Guys, I really wanted to like this one. I fell in love with Losing It and Faking It. They were fun. They were steamy. They were the perfect combination of silly and awkward. This one though just fell flat for me. The normal chemistry, lust and outright perfection that’s usually in Cora’s novels was difficult to locate in this one. Let’s start with Kelsey. She totally got on my last nerve. She was so whiny, needy, and came off as so entitled. She didn’t just obsess over Hunt and why he wouldn’t kiss her, she actually felt as though she deserved the attention for some reason. I wanted to smack that whine right out of her! She used alcohol as the fixer of all life’s problems, though it rarely helped a darn thing. She didn’t want her father to control her, yet had no problem going to Europe simply to get drunk and have sex… and all on his money! She was obviously running from something, though I had a hard time staying focused on her enough to see what it was. My first glimpse of Kelsey in Losing It had me believing she was a fun, energetic friend of Bliss’… and maybe she was. I just couldn’t see the fun through the whine. Hunt… now, I understand that he has a few issues he’s working through. But from his first appearance in this story I didn’t care for him. He came off as a total tool, following Kelsey around and appearing to “protect” her and do what was best for her. They didn’t even know each other! It was just weird. :-/ This is insta-love on steroids really. Just way too over-the-top for my taste. Towards the end he showed a few redeeming qualities, but just not enough to have me actually like him. I had to give this book an extra half star for Cora’s awesome writing style. Though I didn’t care for the story or the characters too much, her insertion of humor throughout, both in snarky comments from the characters, as well as totally awkward little additions here and there, made the story much more enjoyable than it otherwise would have been. I love Cora’s humor and writing style so much. Though this book wasn’t for me, I still love Cora! (Thanks to William Morrow and Edelweiss for the review copy!) Zoveel beter dan Losing it. Wel vond ik hem een beetje voorspelbaar. De geheimen van Hunt vermoedde ik al rond bladzijde 50! Maar alsnog een heerlijk boek!!! En props voor de cover. Ik vind hem echt heerlijk
