A bit unimpressed with this. To begin with, I personally felt the steam to be unexciting. The relationship bored me. I thought it was ridiculous how even though they knew were not supposed to be together they immediately, after the first class, went to Aidan's office to have sex (which to be honest was another thing that bothered me. These two seemed to lack discretion, and I wondered how they did not get caught). I would have liked a little tension. I also found some of the details to be a bit silly and didn't make much narrative sense. Somehow in a school of about 30,000 people this man was the only one teaching the class she needed for her major and not only that but she had to take this class before she could take any others in her major. Overall it was okay.

I won’t lie, I did almost DNF for a minute. I was struggling to connect with the characters and it took about 50 pages for me to actually say that yeah I’ll finish the book. It’s taboo don’t get me wrong but I think it was over dramatic in some areas. It was a very quick timeline too so it was also something I had to adjust too as well when I was reading. The spice was great though wasn’t expecting that much and was thoroughly surprised. I did think this was a quick read because it’s less than 200 pages but it felt longer because I didn’t have that connection even though I only started it last night😂

I read this while on vacation with my family and definitely hid from them so I could devour this book. Sorry not sorry for prioritizing smut over eating a turkey club with my grandma. Anyway.

After reading Love Unexpected and Unconditional last month and loving them, it should come as no surprise that I loved this one too. I always love a good forbidden student/professor dynamic and the inherent tension and buildup that comes with it—longing glances, dirty text messages, and office and stairwell trysts between classes. I eat that shit UP.

The spice was chef's kiss. It's always nice when book boyfriends are passionate about going downtown on their lady, but I feel we don't get enough reciprocation of that passion. Skyler was just as eager to lick Adrian's lollipop as he was hers, and we truly love to see it.
