Fix Her Up
Reviews

First TB book I’ve read. Almost gave up. LOL

The female MC is HILARIOUS but I don’t like the love interest - I hate patronizing male characters

3.75 so sweet. so fluffy.

3/5 My comfort book.

The love interest is just a no. Big no.

Never a denouement-declaration made me cringe so bad. Let's just ignore the whole nickname thing - baby girl, two bats??? - but the ending was so frustrating? I litteraly shivered at the put-on-display-declaration-on-tv scene, and what was supposed to be the most important incident in the story was based on a dumb misunderstanting that didn't even made sense - except for making the characters hurt separately for a bit and getting them back together planning for grandkids all of a sudden. Her other endings made way more sense (the middle of the book was fine though)

Ok so I just think I love Tessa Bailey books. Georgie and Travis have such a cute relationship right from the beginning. Fake dating but they have nothing but smut for 70% so are they really that fake? Love the plot and love the smut

Book = barely a plot and more soft porn - nothing wrong with that. Would have given it 3 stars if two things hadn‘t happened. 1. Georgie is a very submissive female towards the love interest. Nothing wrong with that if this is a grown woman‘s decision. But the way she was depicted and treated screamed low-key pedophilia. 2. This was published in 2019 — we made too much progress to be loving stories about females whose single endeavour in life is to serve a man.

Someone recommended me this book saying that Travis had golden retriever energy. That’s just straight up not true. It was a good book though, but it was yet another romance where the guy is like a sex god and the girl is a virgin with little to no experience at all. Kind of super over this trope but it was still a good read.

Tiktok did hype this book up too much. It wasn't the worst, but for sure on the lesser side of average “Why are you dressed up? What’s the occasion?” “Why can’t life be the occasion?” You have to fight for what you deserve. What you want is no more or less important than what anyone else wants We’re not about cutting people out of our lives. We’re about refusing to accept anything less than what we deserve. About realizing that we’re all important here despite mistakes or bad relationships or lackluster careers You . . . accept me. Exactly as I am. But you still change me for the better

3.5 Great book, best friend's sister/ Brother's best friend romance 100%. I don't think Tessa Bailey could do any wrong. You can't change my mind.

Why did they make her a clown 😭

i love her writing style but the main character annoyed me so much i barely finished it

Fake relationship to real relationship....whats not to love.

Super cute fun romance. I did expect a whole different story though. But it was a pleassant surprise

Yes, this book has a lot of issues BUT it's a Tessa Bailey and I love this woman. Just read the name of the series and you'll have all the info you need. Also, I'm a sucker for the older brother's best friend trope so I'll eat this up.

*3.75

I kind of want to be a clown when i grow up

I listened to this on audiobook because every time I tried to physically read it, I ended up putting it down! However, I much preferred the audiobook, which is good considering... Spice Level I give 3/5 🌶 Was a good cheery book to use as a filler in between a thriller book and my next read. Do I consider this a great book? No. Do I consider this to have my favorite trope? Yes. Fake-dating is always chefs kisses!! Do I consider the characters well rounded enough though? Not really. Tessa Bailey's writing has a very shallow view when in the male character's POV. Idk if it was just this book, but was not a fan of Travis's POV and could've done without it. Also this didn't seem very comedic for being in the romcom category, maybe it was just the narrator? But it just had some embarrassing scenes for Georgie that made me feel bad for her. Do I think this is the start of a bigger storyline? Absolutely!! Off to listen to another Bailey novel! Maybe it'll be better than this one!

** spoiler alert ** 2.5 stars Honestly I'm just disappointed, because this book is so hyped and sadly it just didn't meet my expectations. I had a really hard time reading this book, i did run into some issues with my e-book, however i had issues with the book itself. I apreciated the whole support women group but the rest of the story just felt weird, and I didn't connect with the characters at all. Quite frankly I really didn't like Travis, I found him very cringy and just weird, and actually I think he might be a sex addict, like why does he need to think about sex all the time? And omg this guy literally had an erection every 10 minutes.. just chill. The whole two bat and baby girl thing... please stop. I usually don't mind smutty books, but damn this one was straight up cringe, i didn't enjoy a single one of the scenes. I didn't mind Georgie, and I sympathized with her being left out from her family, but her makeover? Yeah I did not enjoy that, not even a little. Why did she had to change herself, I get it, and it's great that she felt confident in herself but, not knowing she had all of those curves, I mean come on... really? I don't know it just felt wrong. We do not need more female characters that have amazing bodies and only wear tight fitting clothes, this is just my opinion tho. I don't really like clowns either, so that was definitely something, however I didn't hate it, but I also didn't like how Georgie being a clown was brought up in almost every chapter. Lastly I absolutely hated the end, im sorry but i feel like the proposal felt really weird and rushed. I respect the opinion of those who liked this book but over all i think this is a pretty mediocre book. Not my cup of tea.

I think I saw a recommendation for this book on Twitter, but I can’t remember for sure. Fix Her Up is a sort of surprising combination of sweet, lighthearted romance and raunchy sex, and I’m glad I checked it out. I think calling it a romantic comedy is a little bit of a stretch because it wasn’t necessarily funny, but it was silly and occasionally absurd, so I’ll give it points for effort. I liked the characters and enjoyed the push-and-pull of their relationship, formulaic as it might have been. The sex scenes were pretty hot for a cute will-they-or-won’t-they between a party clown and a former baseball player. That said, I winced every time the male lead said the word “babygirl,” but I guess that sort of thing works for some people. I’m also not sure I bought the happily ever after ending, if only because the book feels like it happens over the course of two or three weeks, tops, but I’m assuming that the romance genre has some required tropes, so there you go.

This was hot… let me just say the dirty talk in this omg 10/10

5 Stars ★★★★★ HI BOOKLOVERS, I know everyone probably already read this and I'm the late one so not going to say much. I love it. Highly Recommended! :) xoxo. Kath!

Loved the book but can’t wait to read lose her or love her. I was lowkey confused by the ending but overall it’s a good book a bit cheesy but all in all was enjoyable to read
