I was over-the-moon excited when I got wind of this book. Having just came out of the closet as bisexual last year, I've really been looking for characters in books to identify with and relate to. And this book gave me that exact experience.

CeCe is a bisexual, fashion influencer on social media. She has a girlfriend, Silvie, who is a lesbian and is also in the same position as CeCe. On the internet, they're known as one of the LGBTQIA+ community's biggest OTPs #Cevie. I really liked that the author incorporated social media into this book. As something that has become an extension of everyone's day to day priorities, and especially for quite a few of us in the book community, I think it's really important to have such a focus on social media in books. Jessica Verdi did not shy away from exposing social media for its good and bad parts, and I really liked how that was addressed throughout the book. Social media can be like a drug, for some people. And with CeCe, we see just how much she relies on it to validate herself and her doings every day.

This wasn't a book that shied away from the topic of biphobia either. I've seen countless times on social media, people tell complete strangers that have no effect on their lives to "pick a side" to prefer. While Verdi didn't capitalize on the issue of biphobia until later on in the book, she did bring up lots of important moments and tellings of being bisexual through CeCe.

There were so many points within this book where I was able to relate, but there were also some points that made me frown a bit. I was not a fan of the Harry Potter references made in the book, and I do seriously hope the author takes those out of the final copy. We've moved past the point of needing to make HP references, and I'm honestly sick of seeing them. Along with that, and though it was resolved at the end, I didn't like how CeCe chose to not talk about politics anymore because it became difficult and uncomfortable. There are people in this world who literally cannot stop talking about politics because it's a matter of their human rights, and I found it very privileged for CeCe to say she's not including politics on her social media or in her personal life anymore for 80% of the book.

All in all, I did really enjoy this book. It gave me representation I've needed to see, as well as cute and cliche moments that I didn't realize I was needing until now. But I do think there was quite a bit of room for improvements and realizations, and for that, I rate this book 3.75 stars.
