#ya #chicklit although #Friend was touted as the new #Blume I found this somewhat lightweight. Yes some good diversity (2 dads, single mother, soccer playing girls). But for me I’d like more ambi-gender books in this space and I just can’t see many boys reading this story with only the female heterosexual-normative viewpoint.

All her live she has only though the worst of men but know she has to try and change that because she may just be dealing with her own boy drama as well as the sudden reappearance of her absent father.

For Keeps was a charming book I will admit that but for me it felt like it lacked that 'something' which every great book has. If you ask me what that 'something' is I honestly wouldn't be able to tell you because you will find that it differs from person to person.
