           Sweet lord above I haTE THIS. 
This book took me so long to read compared to others because it was so gratingly unbelievable. Okay, I get that all the books are pretty unrealistic, but this one was so horrifically stupid I can't even ????? 
I have a few serious issues with this book that I feel compelled to air. 
Firstly, how many times do I need to read that "Sang feels uncomfortable with Mr Blackbourne touching her, because she's used to the other guys touching her but not him" I'm pretty sure I read this at least 4 times in this book... literally suck it up or tell him to stop. Can we move on from that now, Sang?
Secondly, North gave me the absolute shits in this book. So apparently he is incapable of expressing care without screaming at Sang??? Sang, a girl who has been abused for years by her own mother. Who gave you the right to scream at a person like that? Of course she's not going to see it as you caring. Quite frankly, I don't know who would, because I sure wouldn't put up with that. Also, literally stop controlling her every move, I'm so fucking over you telling her what to do. shut up. 
Additionally, Sang's characterisation is so so sooo flawed. I know she hasn't experienced romance before and she's unsure about intimacy, but she hasn't been living in a fucking hole. It is completely unbelievable that she isn't aware that certain actions are fundamentally romantic.. she's read books. she's seen people at school. she has a FUCKING BRAIN. jesus christ, I've never been in a relationship either but it's pretty fucking clear to me that CHEWING ON SOMEONE'S FINGERS is definitely NOT "what friends do" (honestly don't get me started on that. that is literally repulsive). At the start of the series I did defend Sang's social ineptitude, and I still do. She has social anxiety and she is going to question her actions constantly, but the author is really failing in keeping up that façade now, Sang is just all over the place and no longer a believable character. 

I'm not even going to continue with my complaints because I've got the shits big time and need to go cool down. But the MOST annoying part is that I really want to read the next few books, just to see what happens and work out what the hell The Academy is (that's still really vague, god). I don't know if I can do 4 more books...
