Cosmic
A tall story from Carnegie Medal-winning Frank Cottrell Boyce.Liam is too big for his boots. And his football strip. And his school blazer. But being super-sized height-wise has its advantages: he's the only eleven-year-old to ever ride the G-force defying Cosmic rollercoaster - or be offered the chance to drive a Porsche. Long-legged Liam makes a giant leap for boy-kind by competing with a group of adults for the chance to go into space. Is Liam the best boy for the job? Sometimes being big isn't all about being a grown-up.

Liams love for thrilling rides grows as life at home and school dulls. He's 12 but he looks 30, so all the teachers hate him because he's mistaken a teacher and in the public, he's mistaken a dad. His relationship with his dad is awkward and any fun things he does look immature. So when this one in a million chance arises to get away from his home to go to the Infinity Park, a top secret, new amusement park, he uses his hairy old looking self to look like a dad with a daughter (a requirement) in order to get in. But when he gets there, it's nothing he expects at all.
