Plays and Playwrights 2004

An anthology of plays by emerging playwrights from the previous theatre season produced in New York City. Representing the diversity and vitality of the downtown/alternative theatre scene, the ten plays included here range from timely works about living in post-9/11 America to warmly funny comedies of individualism; from send-ups of avant-garde theatre and reality TV to a richly poetic experimental exploration of sexual politics and a documentary theatre piece about artificial intelligence.
