The Plot. I really enjoyed the concept of this book and I liked the uniqueness of the story line. The author did a great job of pulling this book together and I loved the idea of a girl who donates her body to science and is then built into a robot. Not only was the story-line very unique but the book had a great flow that made for easy reading. I also thought that the author did a great job of keeping Kaitlyn in a robotic tone of voice throughout the book. The only part I didn’t like was when Kaitlyn met her boyfriend from when she was alive, I thought that the scene was very rushed and there wasn’t a clear idea of what was happening. Otherwise the book was really good. Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn was an interesting character because of how her internal thought sounded and read like a robot would probably think like. I felt that a lot of scenes of her life during the book were very blurry and there wasn’t a clear focus on what was going on. I did wish in some parts of the book that she was a little more human-like because I felt like her monotone was not needed in some areas. Lucas. I really liked the parts of the book that were from Lucas’s view because it was nice to read about someone who seemed to have actual emotions. I didn’t understand how Lucas could fall in love with someone that was thought of as not having any emotions or own thought process. I thought that it was almost creepy that he was so infatuated with her. Then there was a scene in the book where he betrayed her in the name of science and I didn’t understand how Kaitlyn could forgive him. Overall. All in all Freak of Nature was a pretty good book and I would like to see a second book. I’ll also be looking into more books by this author in hopes that the other books are this good.

I actually enjoyed this a bunch. There were a few parts that kinda seemed ridiculous to me, but sometimes I can over look that if I enjoy the characters and storyline. Full review to come.

This had an interesting concept and a likable main character. However I felt that everything was rushed, the romance was way to heavy and the ending was WAY to easy.... Not exactly what i look for in a story.

Blog Tour Post: http://totally-bookalicious.blogspot.... Freak of Nature is my first book by Julia Crane that I have read and it certainly won't be my last. Freak of Nature is unique and exciting. At first it took me a few chapters to get into it but once I did I couldn't put it down. Kaitlyn is a cyborg. After a horrid accident that leaves Kaitlyn for dead, scientists use her body for an experiment. To turn her into a cyborg. She isn't meant to have any of her own thoughts or emotions after being remade but she does. However, she doesn't let on to those who experiment on her in case they get rid of her. However, while she is trying to keep her emotions in check she is falling in love with Lucas, a young scientists. Now I can't even begin to go into this without giving away spoilers. It's just one if those books that you need to read. Julia is an excellent story teller and really knows how to grip the reader attentions. After the initial start which I found a bit slow and boring, I was completely blown away. Freak of Nature is so unique and the love story is so romantic and has a Starscrossed-lovers feel to it. And come on who doesn't love those kind of reads. Kaitlyn and Lucus are two very intriguing characters. And I feel like the readers are going to fall in love them. They both are struggling with their feelings and it is causing them to have inner battles with themselves but together they have this attraction that just defies reason. If you are looking for something completely different and exciting them get your hands on Freak of Nature. I can't recommend it enough. Apart from the fact it took me a few chapters to get into the story and inside the characters heads it's nearly perfect. I can't wait for the next instalment and finding out what happens next. I also look forward to discovering more of the authors work and seeing if they are as good as Freak of Nature.

I honestly don't know how I feel about this book. Part of me likes it and part of me is a bit turned off by it. Some bits I really had to struggle through to finish because they made me cringe, and honestly, Lucas and Kate's relationship is a bit weird to me. Whether or not I'll continue the series is up for debate as I could never really decide if I was attached to it or not. The writing isn't terrible or anything, and the plot itself is really interesting. Maybe I'll give the next book a chance, but we'll have to see!
