I expected more from this book, especially since it made the SCLA nominee list for this year. However, this book should make its way over to the children's list. 
I felt talked down to in this book with its narrative placed in the form of poetry but having nothing more than form to that supposed poetry. Then, the author constantly interrupts the flow of the narrative with two page spreads with further historical information and primary sources related to Korematsu. Atkins should have chosen one format or the other rather than trying to squish both into the same book.
I do not recommend this book.
