this book is a really short but interesting read. i found it while looking for short books after just finishing one with 500+ pages and “the gift” did not disappoint. it ends with a twist i didn’t see coming and it leaves you wondering what exactly happened and what’s next to come. 
i definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a good short thriller/mystery!

Probably the best novella I’ve read omg the plot twist at the end made the story 10 times better loved it. A good very very short read.

So if you ever read “The Gift of the Magi” you have the starting premise of the book (highly recommend if you haven’t read it). But ultimately this was “The Gift of the Magi” with a Freida twist. I knew by chapter three what we were going for but that end kind of surprised me not going to lie. I had small hints and feeling but seeing the final result was still entertaining. I was prepared to be disappointed if it ended up being the same as the short story but the end made me feel better about it. All over gift giving.

It is absolutely astonishing how Freida can pack so much suspense in 50 pages. As much as I wanted to wait until Christmas Eve to read this one, I couldn’t resist. Without giving too much away it’s about a young couple struggling financially but hopeful they can make their first Christmas together and husband and wife memorable. Well, it certainly won’t be one that’s ever forgotten.
