I really did not like this book. If it wasn’t my only source of entertainment on a plane I might have DNF’d it. 

The main protagonist is dumb as rocks. How are you a nurse in a prison and have negative survival skills. Also why the fuck would you take a job a prison that the man WHO TRIED TO KILL YOU is incarcerated at. 

Don’t even get me started on the rekindling of this love story as well as her doubt for what actually happened the night she almost died. She testified in court but a few conversations with the man she’s been repeatedly warned about changed everything. 

The worst part of this whole book was the “twist” that the sweet old Nanny was involved. Literally no lead up to that. It was such a needless and obnoxious twist. I rolled my eyes and turned the book over when I read that. 

McFadden came highly recommended by a few reader friends, I thought the plot seemed interesting enough. I don’t know if I will ever give her another try, this was rough.

this was an entertaining but complicated read. freida really knows how to hook me with every chap. i just felt uncomfortable with some of the themes involving family relationships. while i appreciate that thrillers can explore dark topics, i felt that certain choices in the story distracted me from the mystery rather than strengthening it. it kept me entertained, but the ending left me w mixed feelings.

Absolutely loved this book! It left me guessing the entire time who was actually the bad guy. Never would I of guessed… 🤯

It gets 0.5 stars just for the lil parallel of father and son at the last page. Terrible writing. Terrible plot twist. Could have been an interesting plot overall if it had been written better with more detail and character background. I was excited to read a murder mystery but now know that i will not read any of her other books.

Wow, I was not expecting the very end!! The entire book was full of twists and turns, but the epilogue really drove it home! I’ll definitely be reading more from this author.

i finished this book in one day because I could not put it down! The twists in this book had me on edge the entire time. Highly recommend this book and cannot wait to read more from this author !

           i swearrr to god my feelings were all over the place. i didn't know what to feel, WHO TO BELIEVE. it's like this book also manipulated my mind the same way shane did brooke's. IT'S SO GOOD IDK HOW FREIDA DOES THIS SHE IS SO QUEEN I LOVE YOU. anyways go read this book ACTUALLY ALL HER BOOKS. freida never disappoints. 5 ⭐️.

I need to stop doubting freida. She makes you think that the story is going to go down the most predictable path. For the majority of the book, I was just believing that Shane couldn’t have possibly killed everyone because that’s what happens right? It’s always the person you least expect. And then she pulled the ol switcheroo and made Brooke believe that Shane and Tim were a team and I was like “oh yeah, that actually makes a lot of sense”, and then MARGIE is actually Shane’s mother and the second killer? It’s giving Scream 2.
I bow down to Miss McFadden’s ability to keep you guessing
