3.5 stars Keeping 6 is the second book by Freya Barker that I have read. A Change of View was my first read from this author. I highly enjoyed it, so I had to check out more. Keeping 6 is the first book in a new romantic suspense series, Rock Point. Romantic suspense isn't a genre I've read a lot of so I was really curious. Keeping 6 started off exciting, a kidnap and the aftermath of it. Fast forward a few years and the detective from that kidnapping runs into the woman who was kidnapped at her bookstore. This detail made me connect to the book even more, haha. As a major bookworm, owning a bookstore would be a major dream. While some things in this book were predictable, it also kept me guessing. I had to keep reading, because I wanted to know who was causing all the problems for Kerry. She goes through so much, but all she keeps thinking about are her friends and bookstore. Damian is in charge of the investigation she finds herself involved in. At first I really didn't like him. He's too full of himself and I didn't like how he took charge of the situation at times. Especially how fast he kind of just threw himself at Kerry. I get the whole romance between them, but I would've liked to see more of a buildup. That was lacking in this story. In the end, I did enjoy them together and I can't wait to see how this series continues. Besides romance, I liked that this author also gave us a mystery to solve. I love this take on a typical romance story. Full review on thebookdutchesses.com
