This one was also super adorable. I liked some of the stories in the first book more but these were super adorable. I love listening to these gay little amphibians with my lesbian girlfriend so much.

I didn't realize that the second book in the Frog and Toad series had won a Newbery Honor. The sweet simplicity and humor of Frog and Toad's relationship is perennially endearing. When I shared this read as part of my 2022 Newbery Reading Challenge with my Grade 6 students, all of them shot their arms up telling me, "I love that series!" or "I read every Frog and Toad book!" and those who hadn't vied to check out our Lower School Library's copy after me. I love how browsing and reading Newbery Medal and Honor books bring back happy, warm memories of reading, as well as introducing students to books they would not have discovered otherwise.
