I received a free copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was a bit lost reading this book, but I love mermaids so I muddled through; I didn't realize until afterwards that this story was actually a companion to an established series which makes so much sense. I wish I had read the series first. That being said, there is a good story in this book and it feels different than other mermaid stories I've read before which is always nice. I did feel like the story jumped around a lot though in time. Overall, I liked this and I will probably check out the series this novella came from.
