such a feel good story & a fun twist about some of my favorite Disney characters! I love getting a different perspective through the twisted tales and this one did not disappoint. a super quick read.

It’s a really cute story of how things would have happened if Elsa and Anna grew separate. I remember being 8 years old and going to the movies to see Frozen, I loved the movie and the songs. With this slightly more mature book, we were able to delve into Anna and Elsa's thoughts. I recommend it to all Disney fans!

This book was pretty decent. It was slow at parts, due to me of course watching the movie it was hard to pull apart differences and be a bit weirded out on how different it was, but that’s a fault on my own part. The story for sure is still deeply about sisters finding love in each other’s presence and I’ll always adore that. I recommend this book for sure to Disney fans, and anyone who would love to relive the story of frozen in a new light.

3.5 Stars! This book was a really enjoyable read, and I didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I did! It was well written and the characters were loyal to the movie, so no complaints here!

A fun spin on one of my favorite Disney movies. I love the story of Elsa and Anna and how true love can mean more than just a man and woman insta love, fated to be together. It can be about family. This book took the premise that Anna and Elsa didn't know each other and never met until the fated day when Elsa froze Arendelle. There were some pieces to Anna's new story that were unique that really built the story and I loved thinking about and learning about all the characters I love in a new way. The flashbacks to the girl's childhoods gave so much insight into why the two of them have certain personality traits. Just a really fun read for any Disney or Frozen fan.

I liked different parts of this, but I also didn’t like the recycled parts from the movie just being added in. I just finished Reflection, and that one just felt so fresh to me, that this one was a little underwhelming at times.

I did enjoy the ending though and the letter (if you know, you know lol)

Not impressed. I wanted a twisted tale, not the movie version with small changes. It was legit so similar i though i am watching the movie. I hoped this would be different, maybe even with different ending. Nope! The writing style was kinda meh, too. Not what i wanted at all, very disappointing. 
I hope other “retellings” are different because this was not a retelling, only a bit changed story.

When my daughter was 2 years old, the movie Frozen played on repeat. I wish I was kidding. The second the movie ended, she would demand “AGAIN!” and we would let it go all over again. I have seen the movie so many times, I can recite it by heart. The crazy thing was that the more we watched it, the more I didn’t hate it. I liked being able to show my daughter that family is more important than true love, especially as I was pregnant with her soon-to- be brother after all. So imagine my excitement when I heard about Conceal, Don’t Feel by Jen Calonita.

I have heard about the Disney imprint series Twisted Tales by seeing the books at Target and Barnes and Noble. I have been intrigued, and have bought a couple of them – they take the story of some well known Disney tales, like The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Mulan, and they change the story a bit. A little bit like the butterfly effect – if one element changed, how would the story change? Imagine my excitement when I heard that not only was the next book in the series about Frozen, but it was also written by Jen Calonita. I loved her series “Secrets of My Hollywood Life” and her “Fairy Tale Reform School” series that I have started. Frozen mania is starting all over again in my house with the release of Frozen II ( she will be going to her very first movie with this release, and with 2 of her friends – excitement is high), so it was the best time for me to read this story.

We all know the story of Frozen – two sisters are orphaned…Elsa is due to be queen but her powers get the better of her…eternal winter…songs are sung…a snowman is speaking…let it go…let it go…can’t hold it back anymore…Marshmallow is making my son roar like only he can…and true love conquers all WITHOUT A MAN! Let’s watch it again! In this book, when Elsa and Anna’s parents rush Anna to the trolls, they have to make a decision to separate the girls. WHY!? Well I don’t want to give EVERYTHING away. So the girls don’t remember each other, and grow up without each other. Elsa gets to stay in the kingdom (who else will protect her powers?) and Anna grows up with a new family.

Life goes on until it’s time for Elsa to become queen and her powers get the better of her. That, and she is starting to remember something about another girl named Anna. Anna knows deep in her heart she belongs in Arendelle, but she doesn’t know why. And I still love Sven.

I absolutely loved this story – so much so that my daughter started begging me to read it to her when she heard me telling my husband about it. I promised her when she is older and can start reading with me chapter books without pictures, this is high on our list. Right next to Harry Potter and the Whatever After series by Sarah Mlynowski. What made me love this even more were the quotes from the movie that were sprinkled throughout the story. My favorite line from the movie made it in the book, which had me giddy to keep reading. Seeing the pieces of the movie that have changed had me laughing. Kristoff doesn’t call Oaken a thief when he is trying to buy carrots, a rope and an axe. It’s Elsa who wanders into Wandering Oaken’s shop “hoo-hoo!” These special touches added to an already interesting story. And to see where this new tale will lead us, and how the girls will find each other, had me turning the pages as fast as I could.

Now I can’t wait to try the other Twisted Tale’s!

Recommended for Frozen fans, Disney lovers and all kids at heart. Not recommended for anyone who hates Frozen or thinks a man is needed to solve their problems.

I think this would have a higher rating for me if it was not a retelling. But saying that I also have to admit I adored to find scenes and quotes that reminded me of Frozen! Visiting these characters in a different way was fun. Although I like the twist we have in Conceal, Don't Feel, sometimes I felt that some things didn't make too much sense or were a bit stretched out to serve the plot. But it was still an enjoyable and fast read. And I still love how it maintained all the characters personalities!
