I bought this book on a sale thinking it was going to be completely different. Truth be told, I got bored of it easily and I didn't quite get anything I was reading.

If you asked me what this book was about I would have absolutely no ida what to tell you, it all goes around two women and everyone being "obsessed" with them and what they were doing or not. But it also talks a lot about spirits and ghosts and that sort of thing, but without actually saying anything? I seriously didn't get anything I was reading or why.

Something I did get was that I was completely uncomfortable reading it, I know that was the point of it based in when it was written and that the two main characters (tbh no idea who was the main character or not because not even that made sense to me) are men, but jesus the way they speak about women made me forget this book was actually written by a woman instead of a man. Those two men were constantly trying to go out with a woman, one of them being married and with a family, and they were so obsessed with making comparations to prostitutes. I'm not saying this was a bad thing because like I said, I get that this is probably how it was supposed to be, but it still made me horribly uncomfortable reading it, so kudos for the author on that part.

The end, jesus the end almost made sense but then it didn't. Yes, the whole point was revenge, but of what exactly? Was it because he was a cheater? Was it so the other girl could leave for once? I honestly have no idea, maybe I was just too tired of it to even understand the ending. The whole book seemed like a constant metaphors mixed up with gross comments and spirits in between but with absolutely 0 plot, not one that made sense at least. The whole book went around the main girl trying to leave her mother in law because she was manipulative and in the end nothing, absolutely nothing happened, I guess it was part of "a plan" or revenge but not even that was explained in an easy way. Again, it's possible I was just sick of it and just finished it so I could say well at least I finished it, without reading it in depth. Although I'm one to believe that books aren't meant to tear your brain apart just for you to understand what's going on.

I'm pretty sure some people would love this book, with all that poetry, enigma and everything, but it just wasn't for me.
