Funfear
A time-slip adventure mystery pitched at KS2/KS3 readers and linking with an interactive website 'wordtamer.co.uk', this novel begins in a contemporary recession-hit town where a young boy, Max, is struggling to be accepted at a new school - only when he begins to 'slip away' to a strange 1950's dream world his street-cred gets worse, not better. Written by an established award winning children's author, the novel taps into National Curriculum specifications and offers not only the development of reading and literacy skills, but also taps into Citizenship and social debates around bullying and animal welfare. The novel has been extensively trialled in schools and is also supported by the popular ICT creative writing resource 'wordtamer.co.uk'. Additionally, the book itself includes further teacher/pupil resources in the form of creative writing exercises.
