They

They

I do not know what They are. I don't know where They came from. All I know for certain is They appeared in the house about six weeks after Amy and I moved in.They may have always been in the house, but I don't believe that's true. I believe they found something compelling about the old building that drew them to it. My wife and I were merely the unfortunate souls who resided there when They arrived. Lock your doors, close the drapes, turn on all the lights...Supernatural horror from G. Allen Wilbanks at its best.

** spoiler alert ** This book was nice and short, pretty much a short story, which is fine and it told what it wanted to say. On the other hand, since it is so short, the whole thing felt rushed. I liked the idea behind the story and the twist at the end was shocking, but the middle just kind of… happened. The entire start of the infestation by Them took place over about 24 hours, which, given neither of them believed in the supernatural before those events, was a little too fast for my liking. I would have liked to learn more about Them, more about the couple, even more about the house. The fact that what They are is an open question works for this though. Overall, it was a good quick read. I just wish there was a little more too it. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
