The Wicked Village A Story of Clochemerle

The author continues his portrayal of the improprieties of the fictional village Clochemerle located in French wine country. Presented in a playful, forgiving tone, a new curate to the village tries to moderate the sexual appetites of the village residents with little success, as the luxuries of the 1920s reach this pastoral village. In the backdrop, however, remain hints of the upcoming economic and political turmoil of the 1930s.
