My favorite book that I've read time and time again during the summer. It's perfect for whenever you want something to dive into whether chilling at home, on a long road trip, or stuck in the woods like Brian. The amount of detail Gary Paulsen brings to each page is visceral, making you feel as accomplished as the protagonist you're following. I also don't like books that are too long or too short, so Hatchet is perfect in its length and even includes a handful of beautiful illustrations by Drew Willis.
