This book was thoughtfully written to consider all viewpoints on the issue of social justice. Keller steers a course that lends towards Kuyper's viewpoint of the church's involvement in areas of social justice (the church being a place that offers relief and not as the main center for all other steps of the social justice ladder). He constantly emphasizes that the church's mission is Word-based, and that, as we are changed by the Word, we are involved in bettering our communities, both in our outpouring of the Gospel and in helping those who need help. This is a must read that also serves to point to an abundance of other resources to process through the church and the Christian's involvement in social justice causes.
