Honestly, do you need to know more?

This book was veeery weird. And also, what the hell was the point of Soc? Was the meaning there that he KNOWS what the Academy/Examination is all about? And if so, why was he trying to get in?

Oh, man, that whole last section… In hindsight, I REALLY should have figured that out, but honestly, it never even occurred to me that the Main Character could be anything but exactly like me. 

Also, WHAT??? Really????? I just 150 pages for THAT???
(Actually, THAT made a lot of sense, so I was okay with THAT.)

Not a lot was actually HAPPENING in this story. Most of it was the Main Character explaining about things that were in the past, thing that had HAPPENED. But that was sort of the premise of this story, and it was really cool, and that made it totally okay.

Honestly, this book was very much meant to be introspective, and there were some really deep parts, but I found myself more often being entertained by the fact that was a sassy orangutan robot ((I still can’t get over that. That’s so amazing!!))

Also, this book is only 150 pages, so it’s not a huge commitment, if you want to read it.

I know I've said this before, so forgive me if I keep repeating myself, but I love book discussion books because it gives me a chance to read books that I wouldn't pick for myself. I don't normally read dystopian fiction (which is a misnomer in this case anyway) so I'm relieved that someone picked it for me or I would have missed this book altogether.

"Genesis" is not so much a novel as it is a philosophical exercise. The writing is excellent and the author really makes you think about what makes us human?...what is consciousness?...what is the soul? I don't want to give too much away because I know other members haven't read it, but I would definitely recommend it for a book club because this topic will generate a lot of discussion.

I have no words. This book is genius. I thought I had it, I thought i figured it all out then at the end...boom. EXPLOSION. That's all I can really say.
