DNFED about 40% in. I'm REALLY liking the premise of the book but I absolutely cannot handle listening to spice being read to me. I think I'm gonna pick up the physical copy and read it instead. Again, it's really good I just can't handle them moaning in my ear and take it seriously lol

Elijah and Addison are awesome together. I enjoyed Getaway Girl from the first word until the last. A beautiful and steamy story of an unexpected friendship to lovers. Make a pitcher of sweet tea and find a comfy chair on the veranda and read this story. It touches on all the emotions. This is definitely a forever fave for me. If you are a fan of Sylvia Day, Bella Andre, Lori Foster, and the like then buy this book.

(4.5) This was a great book, the only thing hold me back is the rampant miscommunication trope, that almost seemed unrealistic in this story (not on Addison’s part, on Elijah’s). I enjoyed the characters, the small southern town feel, and the way Tessa Bailey wrote Addison as more than a stereotypical black sheep.

Definitely enjoyed Getaway Girl. Loved the characters, their interactions and the chemistry between them. Addison and Elijah balanced one another and their bantering was amusing without over doing it.

It was a cute read, Addison was a bit annoying.

This is friends-to-lovers at its finest and I have fallen in love with this author. Addison and Elijah are so freaking adorable. I loved them right from the beginning of the book. This book is extra steamy with lots of graphic sexual scenes that would definitely make you squirm. Also, his butt😏🤭🤭

LOVED THIS!!! This was so much fun to read I couldn’t get enough of it!

The way Elijah and Addison’s story seemed so meant to be from the very beginning gave a beautiful glow to the story. The insecurities they both faced were understandable. And I’m so happy the ending was a happy one for them. The heat between them was freaking amazing and the love and adoration they carried for each other was nearly tangible. Also the two seconds appearance of Naomi was clear enough to know that she’s such a lovable character (minus leaving Elijah at the altar). 
But the lack of communication just frustrated me and at some point Addison’s personality went from emo kid to girl next door ??? I was hoping for so much more.

4 stars ⭐️ this was my first Tessa Bailey! And it won’t be my last. It was super cute, loved it. The only thing was that it just felt a bit fake? I know-it’s fiction- it’s not meant to be super realistic but I think that’s why contemps are so hard for me. I’m jjst like.. in what would could this happen? Lol? I mean it could but just seems so unlikely. Anyways. Adorable book and couple, will deff try reading her new book now!

I've been devouring every Tessa Bailey book I can get my hands on and her latest does not disappoint. Addison Potts is back in town to take over her beloved and recently deceased grandmother's naughty Christmas decorations shop AND to take a quick stop at her estranged cousin's wedding. Addison doesn't quite understand why she wants to attend and she is definitely not expecting she'll end up rescuing the jilted groom.

Elijah, future mayor of Charleston, thought he had everything wrapped up in a neat little box. Political career, 'perfect' politician's wife, new house. Being left at the altar was not in the plan.

Addison, his sexy surprise getaway driver, blows through his life like a tornado in the best way. Throwing caution to the wind, these two begin a delicious and slow-burn dance to a perfect HEA.

Listened to this book on audio for my second read. Loved both the male and female narrators. A southern drawl isn't normally my thing, but Eli makes it work for me! Love this friends-to-lovers romance, and love Elijah's badonk <3

I’m a little embarrassed it took me this long to read Getaway Girl. I really liked Elijah and Addison and enjoyed their story.

I’ve found a new book to add to my favorites of 2018 list, and Getaway Girl is IT! I absolutely LOVED this friends to lovers romance!! We have a mayor hero who’s self-conscious about his bubble butt and a fierce, dirty-talking heroine who saves him after his bride ditches him at the altar. It’s sweet, incredibly sexy (it’s Tessa Bailey, after all) and all-around the perfect friends to lovers romance – I highly recommend this for those who love trope!

I have a friend. A completely platonic, non-romantic one.
But occasionally I rub one out to her.

When Addison Potts moves back to Charleston and attends her estranged cousin’s wedding, the last thing she expects is be the getaway car for the jilted groom, one Captain Elijah Montgomery Du Pont, candidate for mayor. There’s just something about Elijah that pulls Addison, and she couldn’t resist helping him out. The two strike up the most unlikeliest of friendships – as a candidate for mayor, Elijah is expected to keep up appearances as the perfect Southern gentleman, which he is. Addison, on the other hand, is the black sheep of the family and town. But these two characters GET each other and are able to connect in a way they’ve never been able to connect with anyone else. Somehow, they end up being roommates, then friends… but is there possibly more?

“You own this city now, Mr. Mayor. Right now, that includes what’s under my dress.”

The tension throughout the book was divine. Elijah and Addison connect on the friendship level, yes, but there’s always an underlying sexual chemistry that’s hard to ignore. They struggle not to cross the line into something more, but when their dynamic is fun, witty, and flirty, it’s hard to know where the line even is. Tessa Bailey had me DYING for Addison and the Captain to just do the deed – this is one author who knows how to write sexual tension right. And when the line is crossed… let me tell you, the dirty talking queen doesn’t disappoint. I loved that the heroine was main dirty talker in this case, though Elijah could definitely dish some out too. The passion and intensity between these two was perfection!

“You have my heart. You have my soul. And you’re the first and land person to ever have either one. I love you first. And last. I’ve only got this feeling for you. No one else. Never. Do you hear me?”

If you love the friends to lovers trope, I can’t recommend Getaway Girl enough. I adored the characters, the story had me hooked, and the chemistry was off the charts. I also loved that this was in dual first-person POV. Tessa definitely has a knack for it, and I really hope she gives us more of it! Also… can we please have a story for Addison’s cousin, the runaway bride!?
