I have mixed feelings about this because it turned out to be the exact opposite of what I was expecting it to be. But I wouldn’t say I hated it since this book got me invested in the characters and I enjoyed reading how the events unfolded in their lives with each page.
 On the other hand, I also kind of felt annoyed because of how sappy it turned out, I wish the author had dialed it down with the dramatics. Though it doesn’t mean it failed to make me cry, because I did cry at some parts and some parts did feel excessive like they were written solely to make you feel sympathy for the characters. It felt contrived. 
I loved the author’s style of writing, it sucked you in and you could feel vividly what our mc was feeling. The delicate description of nature, pain, fear and so many other things made me feel as if I was sucked right into the moment that was being described.

Allow me to start by saying this was a cute romance novel. But that's all it was. When I picked this novel up at the bookstore, it was on the table of half-off mysteries and thrillers and I was so excited to have found a book in that genre that doesn't have the typical creepy or eery cover art! But no, it was a romance novel with a poorly executed attempt at a mystery subplot and a misleading quote of praise from Liane Moriarty on the cover. Aside from the genre mix-up, the book was short and sweet and easy to read, but nothing about it truly stood out which is why I've given it such an average score. I don't regret reading it but it's not at the top of my list to recommend to my friends.

Recommended For: romance lovers who want to ease into reading mystery/thrillers, those looking for a mindless read

This book I loved so many things about it.

(1) The characters. All the side characters, and the mains, of course. I just want to have people like them in my life, all of them extraordinary self-less people. And I think that side characters play a huge and important role in the story.

(2) The way this book is written, and how I could feel everything throughout the book.

(3) The cover. It's beautiful.

(4) The plot. The plot twist. I DID NOT EXPECT ANY OF IT.

Yeah I think that's it. There was so much mystery, shock and love. it got me dead.

While reading the book, there were some chapters that made no sense to me. But I still read them. As I went to the end, EVERYTHING made sense. It just clicked. All the chapters were so beautifully and neatly planned and in the end I just went like "OHHH"

So if you're thinking of reading this book, *DO IT* NO REGRETS. This book deserves more recognition tbh.

Fun read that’s light enough for the beach yet offers an unflinching take on technology’s influence on today’s rules of engagement. I love that this was part mystery/thriller, part romance novel, and part sad story. Definitely kept me reading and I think it’s fun when books incorporate different mediums like texts, posts, emails, letters, etc. And I love when the author plays off the reader’s assumptions. 

However I felt parts of the book were cheesy, contrived, and overblown. Hence the 3 stars. Some parts I was just like... ugh. Really? And I think it could’ve ended like 100 pages before it did. 

But overall, a good read. :)

I liked the concept of this novel, but it falls short in a few aspects. Why were only a couple of the seven days where Sarah and Eddie fall in love portrayed? Those seven days were arguably the most important part of the story and could've justified Sarah's naivety and obsession (which didn't align with her age at all). The alternative narratives were somewhat confusing until way further along the story and the ending was a bit far-fetched in my opinion. Other than that, the writing was decent and I thought the plot twist was original. I also liked how Walsh intertwined the topic of trauma into the story.

This book took me ages to get through, I almost DNF’d it a few times. But I pushed past the first 80 or so pages and it started to pick up. Of course I assumed I knew what was going to happen, but I was totally wrong. It threw me through twists and turns and loops and hoops. It was good, enjoyable and moving too.

           This one was a rough one to get through. I was expecting more, or at least bigger, shocking twists, but the only one that really got me was who exactly killed Alex. The funeral decoy was cheap and see through. The characters felt only partially fleshed out, so much time was spent developing minor characters and scenes that ended up having little impact on the overall story.
As other reviewers have mentioned, the love story didn’t ring true to me as we had only been shown a handful of small scenes of Sarah and what’s his name (I literally just finished reading this book and already forgot the name of the main male character, if that tells you anything) that didn’t build their relationship to be something spectacular. It sounded like they had a few good days together, but nothing to keep the flame burning after nearly seven months of no contact.
I was honestly expecting more of a thriller out of this book, but the majority of it felt like filler scenes.

This was a great beach or pool read! One that once I got into it, I couldn't stop reading. But fair warning: I found the first 1/4 to 1/2 of the book hard to get into. There wasn’t a lot of action and the mystery sort of felt like drama from a girlfriend....the kind that you know isn’t as big of a deal as they think but you listen to it anyway because you are a good friend. BUT THEN. But then the pace picked up, narrative switched around, more clues were revealed and I NEEDED to know what was happening. Who was who and why and all those things. By the end my romantic heart was twisted in knots and I’ll be honest, the last few pages made me tear up.

 I recommend this! With the warning that it is slow to start. But also with the promise that the ending is worth it! And when you finish, let’s talk about it!

This was quite the rollercoaster. The first half of the book had a really slow build-up, which is why I chose to give this a 3-star rating. The second half of the book, though- completely wild. I did not anticipate the big twist at all (although I did guess the minor twist... 🍼). Once I reached the halfway point, this was difficult to put down.
