Ghosts of the Shadow Market
Reviews

3.5 There were some brilliant stories in this book, but only some. While others were merely okay

Can't nobody pull at my emotions like Cassie Clare. It's a personality trait by now.

much like tales from the shadowhunter academy, i had pettily marked those as separate reads. but i continue being a generous queen and have decided to combine them all into a single read as i am about to add the entirety of the bnha manga which i stress read. 1. son of the dawn - 3 2. cast long shadows - 4 3. every exquisite thing - 4 4. learn about loss - 3 5. a deeper love - 5 6. the wicked ones - 4 7. the land i lost - 5 8. through blood, through fire - 4 9. the lost world - 4 10. forever fallen - 4 looking at the ratings, it seems i have enjoyed this a lot more than the tales which is fair since the stories featured more characters i liked. no rankings. figure it out yourselves.

I cried. So it was obviously good

4 Stars I'm not going to go too far into the plot of this one because it contains spoilers for like, FIVE DIFFERENT SERIES. Cassie, you're a monster. Ok so if you're unaware this book follows Brother Zachariah throughout a century or so of time where he visits different shadow markets all over the globe. During this time he runs into some of our favorite characters from different timelines. There were a few stories that were happy. There were a few that were really DARK. Some were fun, some were a little boring. It was a great collection overall that I really enjoyed. I think the best part is that the last few stories really serve as a lead-up for what we can expect to be some of the plot from The Wicked Powers. Also, it was a good little introduction to the characters from The Last Hours as well (though we did see some of them in the other two bind-ups also). You know when I finished this I was just happy that I didn't have to relive the injustice that is the tragedy of George Lovelace again.

Once again, a series of Shadowhunter short stories following one loved character. I was always very fond of Jem, and GOTSM have showed me more of who he is, and for that this is already beautiful. One thing I liked more in this collection, is the fact that the stories are really focused on the other characters, and Jem is a spectator in them, even though his and the other characters plotlines end up intertwining each other. Favorite stories: Every Exquisite Thing, Learn About Loss (Sister Emilia, I just love her), The Wicked Ones (wow wow, what was that? I need more on Céline and Stephen and whatever Valentine has done), Throuh Blood Throug Fire (Rosemary, absolutely amazingly an Herondale), and The Land I Lost (Alec and Rafe, YAS). I also particularly liked Cast Long Shadows, for it introduced very well to the charactares we will meet in Chain of Gold and I believe Matthew's characters will be one of the most intriguing ones; and Forever Fallen, even though I found a lot of missing points with the whole Janus-Seelie Queen-Ash plot, I think whatever they'll do will have a huge a impact on future novels, and as such it created a good starting point for what comes next.

Honestly I like this, but maybe I'm nostalgic. I don't much care for the carstairs kids, or Jem and tessa's relationship, but I just don't like the "oh look story continues because bayyyybiesss#s" plotline. What I did love was how Cassie explored new characters, how she showed us the thigns Jem saw as a silent brother. That was infinitely more fascinating to me - the way the relationships between the downworld and shadowhunters changed over the decades. Also Forever Fallen was intense as fuck

the amount of love i hold for jem carstairs is greater than anything else

AHHHHHHH

L'ho capito a metà che erano in ordine cronologico... la sessione d'esami fa male gente non iscrivetevi all'università! 🤪 Cast Long Shadows - 4.5 🌟 Inizio col botto! Every exquisite thing - 4.5 🌟 AMO I PERSONAGGI DI CHAIN OF GOLD, SONO IN HYPE TOTALEEEE! Son of Dawn: 4 🌟 I miei bambini sono bambini (letteralmente).
