4.5 ⭐️ Just Another Missing Person was a slow burn for me. The writing style took some getting used to, and the four POVs were a little confusing at first. Looking back, though, I think that was intentional. The story slowly unfolds as each piece falls into place, and the multiple perspectives end up serving the mystery well. What kept me turning the pages wasn’t even the mystery—it was the parents’ storyline. As a parent myself, I found that part incredibly compelling. The impossible choices, the desperation, and the lengths they were willing to go to felt believable to me. I kept thinking that if I were in their position, I would probably do the same without a second thought. The book really shines in the final stretch. Once the big reveals start coming, everything accelerates, and I found myself completely hooked. I spent the entire book making guesses and changing my theories, but I never figured out the twist. When the truth was finally revealed, it genuinely got me. Not the fastest thriller I’ve read, but definitely one that rewards patience.

I love a thriller but this one was somehow both confusing and predictable by the end

This book was good however it was super sluggish and confusing at times and would put me to sleep. Truthfully the main character was kind of annoying and continuously made every situation about her. Other than that good book

         I argue with myself over when to write a review for a book.  Should I write it as soon as I finish the book?  Should I sit and stew over it for a while before writing the review?  Some books I don’t even want to write a review on, but I have made it a rule for 2024 that I will write one for every book I finish.  Frequently, I sit here in front of my computer with a Sims-like question mark hanging over my head; clueless as to what I’m going to say about a book.

            This is one of those books.

            I finished it, so I didn’t completely hate it, but I got unbelievably bored with it.  I genuinely didn’t care about any of the main characters, which made the not main characters even less main character-y than normal.  The storyline wasn’t terrible…but it was just so bland I truly just…didn’t care.  I had a slight emotional reaction to the parents of the long-missing woman, but everybody else invoked nothing for me. 

            Much like the title…this is just another middle of the road mystery.
