I really appreciate that Goldie Vance exists. It's everything I want from Nancy Drew, including the retro vibe, but with a contemporary social norms. In this volume, Goldie has to solve a mystery surrounding her arch-frenemy: Sugar Maple! The mystery in this one is weak unfortunately, even for a kiddie book. But the character interactions are what make this one fun!

Amazing art in this one and I really liked the story

I didn’t like the last volume, but this one was fine. I liked the art style in this one even though it was slightly different from the first two. The colours are still as bright and retro as ever. Goldie was far less annoying in this one as she actually listened to people for once and didn’t steal anything this time. Character growth I guessed. Loved that Goldie and Sugar put their differences aside to team up and help one another out. That’s the kind of girl friendship I’m here for. Goldie and Cheryl are also so cute together. I also preferred the mystery and plot of this one. The mystery was pretty believable and who doesn’t want to read about girls racing cars? Overall, whilst this was a cute, diverse and fun mystery, I don’t think I’m going to be continuing on with the series. I want to invest my time in things I’m super excited about.

Hands down favorite volume so far.

Goldie Vance is still a lot of fun! In this issue, we follow Goldie as she tries to solve the mystery of who is sabotaging Sugar Maple's - her arch nemesis (sort of) - racing car. The trick is that whoever is sabotaging Sugar seems to be trying to make sure that she wins... As usual, I am more invested in the characters of this comic than the mysteries per se, but I did find this one more interesting than the previous mysteries. I enjoy reading Goldie stories - they are fun, short and sweet!

BEST VOLUME YET. Girls supporting girls, an effortless f/f relationship, female empowerment, sabotage, character development, an all girl mechanic crew, a racially diverse cast of characters and an addictive plot. This series is a breath of fresh air and an absolute delight to read.
