i think when you read stories like this you have to take it less seriously because after all, this is a parody novel. it touched on the hilarity of performative activism, and how the impact they wanted was often not what achieved. i think my favorite part about this book was to show that often times, rich people don't care. they can, and will, take away anything because they don't care. 

we do, though. and even if our impact is small, we can do the small impact.
