This reprint is usually designated as 1772 d, as it was preceded by three others in the same year. There exists, however, a manuscript in the poet's own handwriting (now in the possession of the Royal Library at Berlin), which in four instances offers a better text than the reprint, and which the editor has followed in the present edition.
