Super Sitka for the 90s

Super Sitka for the 90s

Over 50 per cent of current planting of upland forest in the UK is Sitka spruce. Major areas of research on this species has sought to increase growth rates and timber yields, mainly through making genetically improved planting stock available to the forest grower. This publication is comprised of edited presentations made at a meeting in Elgin in 1990. Each paper addresses a separate issue relevant to the development of one of the most important species in upland forestry at the present time.
