Well, this was a wild ride! A serial killer, an apartment full of guns, an almost burned-out detective, and corporate corruption -- what more could you ask? There was lots of action in this story. Some of it is violent and a bit disturbing. There's a big, exciting climax too. I haven't read anything else by Warren Ellis. There's one thing about the plotting I noticed. You can see Ellis shaping the plot pieces and then slotting them into place. It's a little like watching an actor whose technique is visible. You can see how they're using their skills to obtain an effect. But you still enjoy. Similarly, you can see Ellis clicking his plot points into place. And you still enjoy that too. Pretty impressive.

Fun, fast, interesting read. Twisted and self-referential, just like I like them. Old school and scifi, all at the same time.
