Savage Collision (A Hawke Family Novel)

Savage Collision (A Hawke Family Novel) The Hawke Family Series Book 1

Gwyn McNamee2016
He's everything she didn't know she wanted. She's everything he thought he could never have. The last thing I expect when I walk into The Hawkeye Club is to fall head over heels in lust. It’s supposed to be a rescue mission. I have to get my baby sister off the pole, into some clothes, and out of the grasp of the pussy peddler who somehow manipulated her into stripping. But the moment I see Savage Hawke and verbally spar with him, my ability to remain rational flies out the window and my libido takes center stage. I’ve never wanted a relationship—my time is better spent focusing on taking down the scum running this city—but what I want and what I need are apparently two different things. Danika Eriksson storms into my office in her high heels and on her high horse. Her holier-than-thou attitude and accusations should offend me, but instead, I can’t get her out of my head or my heart. Her incomparable drive, take-no-prisoners attitude, and blatant honesty captivate me and hold me prisoner. I should steer clear, but my self-preservation instinct is apparently dead—which is exactly what our relationship will be once she knows everything. It’s only a matter of time. The truth doesn’t always set you free. Sometimes, it just royally screws you. ***Savage Collision is the first book in The Hawke Family Series. While it is a complete story, it is NOT meant to be read as a standalone. The story of the Hawke siblings continues in book two, Tortured Skye, book three, Stone Sober, and finally book four, Building Storm. These stories all build on one another and are intertwined. They need to be read in order to fully enjoy and understand the plots. Many reviews for Savage Collision contain MAJOR spoilers for the book without being marked as containing spoilers. This book is best enjoyed without the spoiler information. ***

Savage collision by Gwyn McNamee is the first book of the Hawke Family series and is a five star read. This is a great debut novel and is full of suspense and emotion. The main characters are Savage and Dani, Savage owns and runs a club, he is powerful, cocky and hot. Dani is an investigative journalist and bursts into the club angry at Savage for employing her younger sister. They have an immediate attraction to each other which they cannot deny or fight. They do have obstacles to overcome, both have issues from their past. This book really has it all, it is not a typical romance, there is suspense, action and lots of twists and turns. It will make you laugh, cry and break your heart. I read this in one sitting and you will struggle not to as well. It sucks you right into the story and the writing is fantastic. The secondary characters are great as well and the Hawke family are brilliant. They are all given depth and some are hugely involved in the story. I am looking forward to reading their stories in future books of this series, they are bound to be good if this one is anything to go by. The dialogue and interaction between the characters is realistic and smooth, the friendships run strong and deep and are totally believable. If you haven't read this yet you must, it it a fantastic read and I am looking forward to reading much more from this author.
