i read haunting adeline before this novella so i knew kinda most of her story but sibby broke my heart, she became one of that characters that i just wanna protect, i love that demon slayer so so much. ❤️

also getting this glimpses of zade and addie agh the way sibby describes their smells as roses and burned roses pls just soulmatism shit. 

- "You can't hide from fate. That's the funny thing about destiny, even if you try to escape it, it will always find you."

- "But you can't silence heartbreak. It's loud and painful. Even after you grieve and heal, it lingers in the background, sliding back into your life just when you think you've overcome it." 

- "Immediately, I'm hit by the smell of iasmine and roses. My eyes nearly roll, but I keep them focused on the women. Both are beautiful, and stark contrasts to each other. One has long, beautiful cinnamon colored hair, with light freckles dotting her creamy skin. The other has smooth dark brown skin, light green eyes." 
(....) "I inhale, and nearly choke on the scent of him. He doesn't smell rotten, but he smells of fire and brimstone and something... sweet. Like... like burnt roses. He's definitely not pure. But I can't say he's evil, either." THE PARALLELS PLEASE 

- "he deliberately used my nickname-that he considers me a friend-is what ultimately calms my nerves. My henchmen are all I have. I don't think I've ever had a real friend before."

- "From the deep timber in which he speaks and how he claimed me as his. I smile big. I have my first friend. I hope he gets along with my henchmen. I'm sure once they get over their initial suspicions, they'll accept him into our little group. As a brother, and as a friend. Just like I'm already starting to."

- "You're not normal?" I ask, my curiosity piquing.
"The interesting people never are, demon slayer."

- "Maybe people with dark souls aren't all bad. Just because they're dark, that doesn't mean they're not redeemable. That doesn't mean there isn't good in there."

Wow. Wow. Wow.

What a very dark, twisted, graphic, and interesting. Hands down this book is unlike anything I’ve ever read before. I honestly have no clue what else to say. 

Also, that epilogue. I did not see any of that coming.

Mind blown!

This was not what I expected. It's very gorey, but very sexy as well. You feel sorry for Sibby as the story goes on, and the twist was not expected! A quick read before you start Haunting Adeline.
